    The market tells us they are worth something, why fix something that's not broken?
    Because to most people it is broken, if they just let us put materia in U/U gear, crafted items would still be valuable because people would be more willing to risk them than a U/U piece. It's like the sentinel's body it's a great piece but you're never going to see one with 4 materia on it. However a crafted piece we probably will because they're much cheaper and easier to come by.

    I think it's the best compromise personally.

    But theres no primal gear is the issue. Theres plenty of rare drop gear in Darkhold that is completely worthless because of melds though. If we could have it like this

    Level 1 u/u - as it is now
    level 2 u/u - about as good a single meld
    level 3 u/u - a bit worse than a double meld
    level 4 u/u - a bit better than a double meld
    level 5 u/u - a bit worse than a tripple meld

    It gives u/u equipment some real worth, but it would have to require a lot of components, like upgrading tier 2 abyssea gear in XI

    It's bull to want to make the rest of the game pointless just to reward crafters. In XI some things like the weskit were better than most quested gear. I can see giving crafters one or two items per class that's better than most quested gear but in the end U/U should be better as a whole.

    If they made the good U/U gear take several months to obtain that would help, because then people would buy crafted gear until they could get it. There are many things they could do to "reward crafters" but it's so unfair to make every dungeon every primal and every quest useless just to make crafters happy.

    +1 to the idea Firon, Personally I would only like to see 1 meld on U/U aswell, it would be horrendous if after 4 upgrades and 1 materia you failed on the 2nd. (that is game quit inducing stuff)

    I duno why we can't meld as many times as we like with no chance of losing the item, make materia rarer so the only risk is losing the materia, failure rates still apply but don't destroy the item.

    This, if content required the farming or U/U tokens which you could trade in for gear it would make content worth repeating and longer to get the items you want.

    Ifrit and Moogle took a step in the right direction with the addition of Kupo nut charm and inferno totem.

    There's been a lot of discussion on this in the past. The best way I've seen someone put it was like this:

    Craft gear and meld 1 or 2 materia to help take on end game content.

    O wait I already have best gear, guess I'll craft some more.


    I agree something needs to be done to fix this mentality.

    that s why you can turn them in for gc seals at 1.21. Se can re-stat the bonus but they don't

    edit: remind the FFXIV version you re currently playing is a "fake", the real version is at next year. So just wait and not agree with random

    But unless they plan to add better gear you can buy with GC seals its pointless, all the lvl 50 GC gear is crap.
