I was more referring to Ramza as in Garlean Ramza rather than Ramza as in the original Ramza. Garlean Ramza doesn't have any unique gear despite his prominent role in the story but his sister, Alma, does - which was promptly sold on the Mog Station.
We were lucky enough to see their hairstyles added to the game, at least, though the Gold Saucer.
As for facial hair options, if the development team can't add them through the customisation system itself until a major revamp is accomplished then a compromise in the meantime could be to just make them into 'glamours' that work in the head slot.
They'd probably need to restrict it to prevent it looking silly, though. I don't think it'd really work on female characters or Hrothgar/Au Ra based on the configuration of their fur/scales.

Again though, to be convincing it needs to mould to every possible shape of the character's face (four faces and four jawlines per model) and move when their mouth does. I don't think any headgear can do that – I'm pretty sure everything is a fixed shape per model.
Does the one existing beard have any motion to it? I haven't seen anyone actually wear it but it looks like it just works by totally hiding the face so you can't see the underlying shape of it.
Sure it's an idea worth suggesting – but if it's technically impossible then it's not a "compromise" they can offer.
I am fully expecting that if they do implement the trailer Midlander's stubble, it's going to be on a new face like the Hrothgar models get copies of the same face with different customisation.
Not only for males, but im just chiming in to say: GLASSES! More glasses.
And hats AND glasses![]()
I have faith that the development team would be able to find a way to implement it. Other MMO's have done it and there's clear demand for such a feature.Again though, to be convincing it needs to mould to every possible shape of the character's face (four faces and four jawlines per model) and move when their mouth does. As for the current beard options, they're pretty static. Personally I'm only really interested in stubble as I don't like thicker facial hair. Though I'm fine with such options being made available for those who desire it.
As for whether it fits every face or not, whenever I play a Midlander there's only two faces I make use of - one of which is the base face used by the Warrior of Darkness in promotional footage. That, incidentally, also happens to be the most popular pick for midlander men from what I've seen in-game. So as long as that face had it as an option, I think a lot of people would be happy.
Then people would just complain that they don't have the male version.
People do that in GW2 too.
I played GW2 in Beta and have gone back and forth since and there's a vocal group of people who rant constantly about how their character wears a skirt while the male characters wear pants.
In the end of the day I have nothing against just adding both options for both genders so long as it doesn't mean that they'll just say fuck it and make everything supposedly '' gender neutral ''.
At the same time I don't exactly see the point in changing Ryne's outfit for example at that point just make it a new one altogether.
Ultimately tho I am biased since I play female characters in games but I don't really get upset when male characters get something unique.
And I think it's because I am more drawn to feminine attires so when male characters get theirs it's generally not even something that I want to begin with.
I don't really view it as me losing out on something.
And I also don't want to see them do what Western developers do which is to just give everyone generic as hell clothes that bore me to death because they're '' gender neutral ''.
T-shirts and jeans is basically a meme at this point.
It kinda does feel tho like it's a small minority that is just perpetually upset about this, even in FFXIV you have people who talk about female gear as if they're being completely bombarded with skirts which is the most absurd thing I've ever heard.
The amount of skirts in the game that are available for all Jobs can probably be counted on one hand, and the rest are mostly for like early SMN/ RDM artifact gear or from the mog store ( which I am jealous of ).
And yet people talk about it as if like 80% of leg pieces are skirts.
I mean there's a reason why you generally see people resort to the same pieces over and over again.
As far as I am concern if you want to mog your character as a typical '' cool dude/ dudette in armor '' you have by far more options already.
When it comes to hair etc I might understand it a bit more, especially beards.
And maybe the mog store I guess? I honestly don't pay much attention to it.
