Yeah in Japan we usually got the month of August as summer break. As for NA a good majority of the southern state still see summer, especially the weather. linger well into fall, Ca to Fl, heat waves and hurricane for Thanksgivings, heck even as far into as like Christmas isnt surprising anymore, lul...

Can’t speak for anywhere but the Middle East and the USA. Most of the places I have been in the ME August is still summer and hot hot hot.

In the USA in most states August is the hottest month. I love in Alaska and here too August starts our fall.

The real answer is Moonfire Faire isn't just a summer festival. Much like how All Saint's Wake is based on Halloween, and Heavensturn is based on the Lunar New Year celebration, Moonfire Faire is based on the Hanabi Festivals which happen in Japan in July and August. Doesn't matter if it's not still hot and summery where you live when this happens because They're doing it based on when the event happens in the real world.

Im from Europe (Netherlands) and can say summer last throughout August here. We can still reach tempratures above 30 easily. Early September is when it starts to cool down. And early October when it feels like Autumn.

Moonfire Faire corresponds with the Obon holiday in Japan, starting on Aug 13th. It's often considered to be the last holiday/festival week of the summer, after which the "traditional" Fall begins, much like Labor Day is the "traditional" end of the summer season in the US even if it's not the actual solar season change.

I remember thinking similarly when I first started playing because, in my mind, August is when summer winds down and we get ready for Fall. Now it's something I look forward to as a "last hurrah" tribute to the season.
