Where does this come from ?..
I'm from EU as well and August is summer.

Every city, school, state, etc I've ever been to in the US uses astrological seasons. So equinoxes and solstice, to determine seasons, not weather.
Summer is late June to late September.

Midsummer's eve was over a month ago. Soon its a winter jacket time :3

where I am in Canada, August is one of the warmest months of the year, so it is definitely still summer.
never heard of August being a part of fall
Okay. I'm mistake. Since I was child, remember school said August is autumn. Like ours May, June and July are summer season.)
Yeah seem August is summer. Maybe reason sometimes August weather came colder in my norther europe.

At least in my area in the US, August can be considered the "dog days of summer" and usually quite hot. While summer doesn't end until the middle of September, people usually consider the beginning of the Fall season to be the beginning of the month (or here in the US, Labor Day, which is the first Monday of the month, is the unofficial end of summer).

That's an interesting take. Thinking about last year, my memory says that August was still pretty much full-on summer and even early September was nice and warm with lots of green around. The beginning of April on the other hand is decidedly chilly, trees are bare of leaves etc. Also, the beginning of April is closer to the spring equinox than the end of August is to the autumn equinox.August may as well be discount autumn. Sunny hot weather or no, the days are already getting shorter again and you're running down the clock on the part of the year that isn't miserable and dead. Get to the last few days before September, and you may as well just put yourself in an induced coma until things are decent again at the very start of April.

Let's see the good part : even if August is colder in your country, at least Moonfire Faire will warm it up![]()
