    Personally I have perform turned off. Always. It was obnoxious hearing 4-5 different songs from 4-5 different people just by zoning into Limsa and approaching the MB. Or waiting for Gold Saucer mini games. Someone could be the next Eorzean Idol and I would be none the wiser.

    Why do the OP has such a limited view on what "music" is?
    Automated loop music is a form of music. You may not appreciate it as much.

    But there are plenty of real life performance that CHOOSE to use a recorded looping back ground beat. They could have the person do the beat themselves over and over, but having a computer record and play it over and over IS part of their performance.

    There are so many of these video on youtube also.
