I mean what more can I say? You can't say anything, you can't report, vote kick most of the time don't work. Your time is getting wasted and all you can do is leave the group. It must be hard not being able to take your anger out on people wasting your time. Be brave! I bet the worse feeling also is they are having fun, and you can't do anything about it.
Absolutely. A lot of wrath for giving emotionless advice. Putting a happy face or even some emote in the text will likely be considered passive-aggressive. Everyone knows a player or two that probably says "I'm staying out of chat, it's not worth it". That's the level it is sadly. I look it as I've wouldn't been successful in this game if it were not for many people's advice. Sometimes out of the blue. That's how it all works. I've said to someone the other day I cherish the times in this game I've gotten through learning parties together. No shame from learning from others, regardless of titles, level, or whatever. Everyone has different backgrounds.Remember, it's always just your tone and phrasing. /s
The reality is, people who say they give out a lot of advice and have never received backlash are either astronomically lucky or are being misleading. There are many many catalogued interactions with full receipts of people giving some of the most banal, encouraging advice possible and still getting nasty insults in return.
I've silently joined random learning parties for fights I've already cleared, only to have other players become aggressive and insult me when they realized I had cleared but wasn't "giving enough explanations".
I've hosted my own teaching parties and had players come in, embarrass themselves over and over and then promptly attack me for "explaining mechanics poorly" in my purely volunteer party.
One of my favorite stories was back in SB. I setup a God Kefka kill party in PF, and we managed to get through P1 with some amount of struggle. People rapidly figured out that the main-tank had no idea how P2 worked, so people begin to reasonably question him and ask him if he knew the fight. Queue this guy going absolutely APESH*T, chain pulling the boss while ranting into chat about "How is anyone ever supposed to learn a fight if no one will teach them?", while calling us "awful toxic players", all because we refused to teach him the entire fight in a clear party that he lied to get into.
This game just has a notable minority of extremely entitled, aggressive karen types. Every game has them, but in FFXIV people actively white-knight for them when they start going off, so they become bolder and bolder
The two phase savage fights where the party says it's for a full clear but then some get to phase 2 and be like let me go watch a video, or blow up time in the instance to read something. Definitely seen that before. The small amount of Karen behavior have no respect for people's time, let alone for others.
The most I expect out of anyone in DF is the bare minimum (though by level 80 Roulette, I do expect an attempt at being average). That's a basic rotation for both single target and AoE. If someone is choosing to not even do that (like a level 80 BLM in a level 80 dungeon not using their AoE's on 8-10+ mobs) and is even playing a Job wrong (like a level 80 DRG doing a 1-2 AoE on E6N), I'm gonna say something that may fall under "unsolicited advice."
Not angry if you find like minded souls and I kinda just laughed at all the pepega in pug content so…. Wouldn’t have stayed since launch if I couldn’t deal with freeloading. Do you bro but this discussion is on freeloading….hence the responses.I mean what more can I say? You can't say anything, you can't report, vote kick most of the time don't work. Cool, hey as long as you know how to have fun around the freeloaders. That is a good thing, I have fun no matter what, and the forums is the perfect place to watch people say and speak out when they can't do it in game.
In pf you can absolutely call out freeloading so they at least have that going for them. It’s the archaic jail system that’s just made everyone not talk in game. But that’s a different discussion.
Eh people talk enough must be server thing, or clusters whatever. If people are scared, to talk that is just silly. Unless you talk down to people, or not able to say sorry if you upset someone by mistake. You should be scared I guess?
The jail system works pretty well. And if bad people are scared to talk. That is a good thing.
I don't recall him saying that he does the bare minimum. There's a difference between tolerating the bare minimum and doing the bare minimum. I personally go into the content with the intent to give it my all. I may inadvertently fall short of that goal, but I'm not wasting my time following what everyone else is doing so that I can publicly shame them for not living up to their potential in a video game. I don't mald out when a fight takes 30 more seconds longer than it otherwise would have because Billy Bob was running a non-optimal three button rotation or because he forgot a boss mechanic that resulted in his floor tanking a good portion of the fight.

I personally wouldn't defend a morally bankrupt person.
however you seem to be a proponent of selective visual intake.
Nobody here cares about billy badass not being able to do his 3 chain combo properly every single time in every single instance, never have, never will.
We care about people intentionally sabotaging the team getting the same treatment as long as people are able to carry them through it.
