I’m sure I’m not saying anything someone else hasn’t many times now but I have genuinely no idea why you thought this would go unpunished.

taking a guess here, he didn't, he just wanted to create maximum drama so he went all in with the racism/sexism/whatever else kind of shit he may have pulled and now he's trying to milk this for most drama possible aswell.

Cause I am all for these types of player not being allowed to spread and lower the quality of community.

being new to FFXIV myself, I am really enjoying it so far. Still have not found a FC, but mostly because the names i've seen have just been terrible.

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

The red flags are obvious euphemisms or high school toilet humor (like a “Hugh Jas” or any Bart Simpson phone prank name). If someone thought it was a good idea to name their character “Big Melons” and you thought it was a good idea to join their FC…you really shouldn’t be surprised by their maturity level.

I came from WoW, as I'm sure a lot of people here have. I spent 10 years on Azeroth slowly watching the community erode and be consumed by more and more behavior from players like OP, ill be damned if i let it happen here.

All I will say is never never use the name of a sex offender,murder,terrorist,etc As a name for anything in a MMO.

Not good choices, OP. You don't need to shock anyone to be accepted, and no one is going to think you are cooler because your toon name is edgy.

Also, by the way, "everyone else is doing it," isn't a valid defense anywhere. SE shouldn't have to teach you this at whatever age you are; you should have been taught it already.

Banned for 20 days for having inappropriately named retainers and an FC named "Cosby Klan". I pay to play this game. This is my first offense as a sprout. I was told there was nothing they could do because the 2 retainers and FC name change caused a pile up of reports and I couldn't be given a lighter punishment and that I wouldn't be given any kind of leniency. I don't want a slap on the wrist. Like. I just want a reasonable punishment for what I did wrong. Force me to change the names and 3-5 day ban. You are taking away 2/3 of my paid subscription for the month for a first offense name violation. The GM I spoke with was not helpful at all. Just repeating copy paste dialog rather than trying to actually talk with me and understand my point of view. Force closed the encounter when I was still trying to talk with them and figure out what I could do to prevent bans in the future. This is complete ass.

Now you're gunning to get banned on the forums, too. Unlike Blizzard, SE doesn't play these cutesy games where they play whack-a-mole with your "edgy" names. Next time you'll think twice before putting racist and sexist references into your character and/or FC names. Please quit blaming SE for your lack of common sense.
