FFXIV conspiracy theory - gil/gold farmers

Yep, pretty much this. There are other avenues for that. Like blogs. Heck, you can even have one on the Lodestone itself!

A blog is a place to share information or give you opinion without actually having a conversation with people. It's completely one-sided. What I wanted to do here was get people to have fun, which this community doesn't seem to know how to do without becoming trolls or just completely getting toxic. Way too many arguments all over the place.

So what would this conversation look liked:

Player 2: Haha, too much. What's said is there are lots of people who believe that though!

Player 3: Psh, you need to take off that tinfoil hat so the aliens will come abduct you. We don't need more conspiracy theories. lol

Player 4: That would be brilliant for companies to do. I still don't get why they don't just add game currency to the shop!

Player 2: "reply with quote to Player 4" It would ruin the game, that's why.

I mean, you get the point...conversation. Some of it joking around and others maybe picking up a topic and carrying on. All of it friendly, nothing taken too seriously. Everything as just a matter of respect.

I didn't say I'm not going to have a conversation or have fun. Look at comment where I responded on Lalafell looking like a potato. This is General forum. That means general topics, conversation, and fun. This isn't tech support, feedback, new player help, classes & jobs, gameplay, or any of those types of forums. Only thing I'm saying is I'm not going to argue or take it seriously, as it was meant in humor and I flat out specified that it's not true. So why would I defend it and go off on tangents? That would then be trolling, which I'm not doing.

That is why I said if that was the case then at this point you are just using the general forum as your own personal blog.

Trust me I get it I post joke threads also but let us call it what it is trolling. Since at this point it is not even about having a conversation in good faith cause you do not even believe nor stand by the topic at hand. A forum is meant for discussion generally so what legitimate discussion can be had regarding this topic especially if you are not even willing to defend the position as a devil's advocate.

I do not few trolling as inherently wrong but at the very least call a spade a spade.

As per my edit a forum is meant for discussion how exactly do you intend to have a discussion on a topic that is more or less dead on arrival. Sure it can be seen as a joke but let us be real the intent behind the topic was to spark response. A troll inherently does not have to be malicious or have the intent to malicious at the core it is just someone seeking of response or reaction for their actions.

Thing is you at the core do not want to have a discussion on the topic you posted so either in the end what was the intent if not not garner some form of reaction? I mean I am I cool with trolling and I do not think it has to have a negative connotation with it that is a dated approach to the concept of trolling in my book.

If your intent was to spark a jolly play along wouldn't that fit better with reddit? I mean do not post a topic with a point of view you sre not willing to defend stand by your poste!

I'd delete it, but doesn't seem like it's possible. Let it die and make sure not to feed the trolls we have commenting here.
