I mean it. They're only releasing 1, 2, and 3 at first, and I want to get this replayed in preparation for Endwalker. Time to experience the original The Burn!

I'd like to finish IV and VI for a change.. i didn't get too far in neither. I tried playing the FFIV 3D remake on the phone but it runs like crap... should be playing a different version and the steam one should be fine.
yeah, i tried the 3d version twice and couldn't finish. but i played the snes one before. it's got an amazing story! and endwalker is themed from it. the paladin is cecil. the lunar whale mount. going to the moon
btw, the last boss of cutter's cry is the antlion from ff4. and the doll boss at the end of antitower is also from ff4
I played through IV once upon a time. I wasn't overly invested - it just wasn't my thing - although I am aware that it's many people's favorite. Personally, the one I'd like to see get a major, jaw-dropping remake is FFVI. For one thing, FFVI was the first video game I ever played where you lost. Yes, you defeat Kefka, but you've really been defeated at that point - you're stopping him from annihilating all life, but he's killed most of the world's population, enslaved/exterminated the last of the Espers, and forever altered the map... and there's nothing you can do to right that ship. In many ways, FFVI is the darkest game in the series... and, IMO, it also has the best cast, most emotional plot, and most impressive setting (love the true, pure steampunk; Narshe is amazing).
*Edit* Wait, the pixel remaster... is this the one you can only buy as a $72 bundle on Steam? Geez... that's a little ridiculous for what amounts to a port. I'd happily buy just VI, but I'm not ponying up the better part of a hundy for a bunch of games I'd never play.

Somewhat cautions about these remakes.
No clarity if definite content is included in them.
And for some reason they didn't just port the psp versons of 1,2 and 4 to pc as well as remaking 3,5 and 6 with the same art direction.

All I ask for square-enix is a remake of Final Fantasy VIII... don't see it ever happening though, oh how great it'd be to see those characters, atmosphere and story in HD like the 7 remake.
They already did 1 and 2 ten years ago for the PSP, and 5 and 6 don't need it...
I'm just curious which version of FF4 it will actually be since there have been a bunch of different region specific releases, re-releases, translations, etc. over the years (not to mention a pseudo-sequel/expansion that was included in some of them). It's at the point where there isn't even what most people would consider a definitive version of the game and if you asked 10 people "What's the best way to play FF4?" you'd get 5 different answers. I have hopes that the pixel remaster version will be that definitive version.. but I highly doubt it.
At least they aren't removing the 3d versions of 3 and 4 with the release of these remasters, unlike 5-6 for mobile/steam.I'm just curious which version of FF4 it will actually be since there have been a bunch of different region specific releases, re-releases, translations, etc. over the years (not to mention a pseudo-sequel/expansion that was included in some of them). they will. square keeps remaking the games and keeps the story alive. they remastered 8. they care about it. it's only time until a remake
