Didn't SE recently say they were going to do something with Hroth (and Viera) hair? The only feature I think worth of expanding in Aesthetician is to make it so Hroths can change their hair with one. Having to Fantasia just to change hairstyle seems pretty daunting. Having more options are always welcome though, don’t get me wrong. But with Fantasia in mogstation, I don’t think SE will add anything else into Aesthetician.
Hopefully, they'll at least give them the basic hairstyle system the other races have.
I think they won't let simple due to how much money they make through Fantasia.
I used to play some games that let you change the whole character for free so it was fun experimenting
Sadly here you really gotta be 100% sure on how people look and while alts can do a decent job, they have no access to gear that you are using.
Still at least want to see aesthetician doing a lot more.
It would still be a cash cow.
Most people don't use fantasia to just change skin or eye colours. I used a fantasia that way once and it was only because I liked his design but wanted to tweak it a bit since character creator wasn't representing of the in game very well. I wanted to make his skill a duller brown and his eyes more purple. All the other times (close to ten now) have been to change race or gender.
Wow added gender change to the barber shop because no one was buying that service, if you used one of the services, it was to, again ... race change or faction change.
I don't see a problem with expanding aethesian to include skin, eye, face, ear/tail shape (if applicable) especially since hrothgar need a fantasia currently to change their hair style. Just keep gender and race on the fantasia (the fantasia is cheap enough that I don't think using one to change gender but staying the same race is a big deal.)
WoW expanded the customization you can do in its barborshop to include things like haircolor. I think you can do pretty much everything but change race, name and gender now? I wouldn't mind seeing the aestician allow anything short of those. But I'm not expecting it to happen.
How many people fantasia to change trivial things I wonder? I only use it to change race.
I think they should let us fully recustomize characters within race/clan at the Aesthetician. If anyone can pull that off it's Jandelaine.
I guess we could use fantasia to change gender but if the game wants to imitate WoW we'd be able to change that for free too.
Race and name are the only things you can't change at the barber in WoW now. You can change gender as of Shadowlands.WoW expanded the customization you can do in its barborshop to include things like haircolor. This is one of my biggest issues with the character creator.
It's almost impossible to tell what the skin color you're choosing will actually look like in-game. The lighting options don't help either since they either introduce a slight tint or the lighting is too weak or harsh. Voices also have a similar problem since you can't preview their combat grunts which can sound incredibly annoying for certain race/job combos (catgirl bards with THAT voice).
Currently, the best method to test appearances out is to make a brand new character to see what it actually looks like in-game and then delete/remake them if adjustments are needed. This makes it incredibly easy to reach the daily character creation cap.
The aesthetician really needs the ability to adjust these options.
I've used a couple to fix some minor issues on alts. I picked the wrong tail on my OC miqo'te and while I was fixing that I changed her from min-height to max-height. If you had the misfortune to pick a lighter shade for eye-color on femelezen it makes the dead-eyed look intolerable IMO. I'm debating changing skin tone on my omni80 and if Square allows more cup size for middies I'll burn a fantasia so fast.
I can't tell you how many people but some end up changing just because the eye shape ended up not looking right or some for skin looking too pale/opposite in some areas, some even went to change just the voice because frankly the game is awful on voice samples and list goes on.
Regardless I would love if they let us recustomize.
I have a standard account so I can make lots of characters so maybe this doesn't work for everyone but: Making an alt with my intended new look and running around for a while, trying on gear sets, seeing some cutscenes etc makes it so my fantasias are always just right.I can't tell you how many people but some end up changing just because the eye shape ended up not looking right or some for skin looking too pale/opposite in some areas, some even went to change just the voice because frankly the game is awful on voice samples and list goes on.

Definitely recommend it to prevent buyer's remorse fwiw.
To be fair, Blizzard had it too and they let you do everything down to sex change at the barber now.
Still sell race changes, which is the primary use for Fantasia for me anyway so they'd still be getting money.
