    I don't think they ever actually nerfed it. Players just out geared it which made it easier. Even through the DF players will still see most of the mechanics. A couple are usually skipped though. The ones that don't are just more forgiving than they were. I recently did a minimum item level sync of the fight. Admittedly, it was a little frustrating at points, but it was fun. Probably won't do it again for awhile though. But it was neat seeing about half a group of new players trying to figure it out. It definitely felt like it did on release. I've seen a lot of groups in the PF lately recruiting for the hardest difficulty level possible for things like this or Extremes. I got to experience a lot of these challenges years ago, so i think it is great that new players are taking the time to truly experience a lot of pieces of content the way it was intended.

    The old fights are there to teach people mechanics, not to challenge them. The later ShB content is a combination of old mechanics mixed in with new.

    Most people playing now dont realize how many mechanics are in Syrcus Tower. They see it as the easiest to complete, all due to ilvl bloat and potency changes. I honestly wonder what will happen if the stat squish makes those old mechanics start showing up again. I know only a few of us will remember those old mechanics. Especially the first and 2nd bosses.

    No, it'll most effect 50-70 content I believe.
    I thought it was said that everything 51+ would be squished, scaling differently. Then they gave the comparison that say a BLM at 80 currently does 50,000 damage on a Fire IV. After the squish in the same gear at the current potencies, it'll deal 12,500. Something like that. They were going to leave 50 and down alone for a reason I can't remember.

    I miss the hard mode dungeons and wish they'd find some time to bring them back into the spotlight somehow, but I am guessing they are very costly to do.

    Even the first Ifrit fight has several mechanics. Cone AoE, ground AoE and the nails.

    Are they hard? No, but they teach new players things to expect. You people don't realize that players new to the MMO genre as a whole have no concept of such things at all.

    But I feel like with how easy some of the older normal fights are they dont even teach people mechanics because they're too easy.

    As I said, making fights more challenging is going to be better at teaching new players mechanics AND making the first experience with those bosses exciting and memorable.

    Like someone else said you can ignore so many mechanics in thordan and still be fine. Players shouldn't have to wait until current content to even start to be challenged in a meaningful way.

    Exactly, you can't say it teaches mechanics if they can be ignored with barely any consequences if it's not an insta kill mechanic (like Shinryu's Tidal Wave). How do you expect tanks to learn how to use CDs for tankbusters when tankbusters are now perfectly soakable without one in this content? How do you expect healers to learn how to shield/go through heal checks when raidwides are not threatening anymore?
