Before I started taking choco racing seriously, every time I ported to the saucer it was either of those two. GS really needs more Gates.

I wouldn't mind if they updated it to add more player control so it was less a game of pure chance and more skill but the last thing we need is more gates removed.

Sounds like someone is salty about being blown off the stage.
It's a fun little event. You just pick your spot and relax while you wait for people to get blasted away. There's no pressure to run around, jump, or click stuff under a time limit, so it's the most relaxing event.

I liked it more than Skin Change. As due to how the lighting is in the Saucer and how certain races wore things it could be really hard to tell if you had the right person or if a minor detail was off. Part of the reason AWtWB gives out such a high pay out is due to the luck. Pick one of the least hit spots and mentally do something else.

Or physically do something else – go take a two-minute break and come back to see if you've won.
The "sweet spots" only get hit by the third-of-arena and line attacks (and only if they're pointed at your third) while 100% avoiding all the circle patterns.

I mean, it is a casino, after all. I'm not usually a fan of gambling or random-chance game mechanics, but it's not like you pay anything to enter either. It's just extra random fluff for fun's sake. Sure, I can appreciate skill-based challenges more, but on the flip side it's also nice to occasionally relax and feel like "Well, at least there's no way I can screw this one up. It's out of my hands now."
If anything, I would say either:
A) Make it more like Yojimbo where some of it is skill and some of it is luck, or
B) Get rid of those supposed "statistically safest" zones people are talking about, and make sure there is no way to cheese what is intended to be a "pure chance" game (if those things really exist, I don't know enough myself)

This. I personally enjoyed the mini-game with mimicing emotes, as easy as it was, but they decided to remove it due to the fact that races couldn't be squeeshed on the arena anymore.
