It is a really bad time. Most MMOs do maintenance early in the day or morning for the region the servers. It should be a time with the least amount of traffic on average.

All XIV servers across all 3 regions have maintenance at the same time.

They don't do regional maintenance times. This is 10ish am JST,

Maybe it free up some worlds. Every time I teleport to new area I aways see massive amount of afk players that never logout.

The patches are getting earlier and earlier. When I first started, it wasn't unusual to have a patch that was at 10 or 11 pacific. This gave room for a bit of US prime time after work. I'd love to know what changed.

They still do patches at that time? sometimes they do infrastructure work that they want to have everyone in the office for to work on, since this is early am JST. Its 1 day.

I am betting that is going to be 5.8 but one can hope. I am not seeing the patch notes anywhere yet.

It's 100% a troll post but regardless of that...it's weird that a company from japan with their staff WORKING and LIVING in JAPAN are doing stuff like patches at a time that suits their workers in JAPAN. Weird, really weird. I know it's still a mystery and hard to understand why people maintaining this game don't work at night but we are definitely onto something here!

Yes, it is 1 day and I'm just commenting on how over 7 years the patch times used to be 1) much more variable as they seemed to cycle which region was affected and 2) used to be later when they did hit US prime time to allow at least some time online. So sometime they decided to not stagger them to not always fall into the same region's prime time and decided to start doing them earlier and earlier. Everyone keeps giving this argument that they do them in Japan's daytime but they used to NOT always do that and I'm curious what changed.
