Their not the worst poster I have encountered a poster Name Owen holds that title and has yet to be dethroned. They were someone who would have you believe they were a living breathing troll with a computer. He was a True Master of the art, a craftsmen of Trolling every reply he made was master piece in of itself. Flawless well thought out and unwavering in execution. Yes I am complimenting the guy lol. If the supply was big enough then a LOTTO would not be needed now would it? Cause everybody would be able to get a plot and SE would not have to fall back on such methods.

There's a certain threshold where it doesn't matter, but the main thing SE is trying to solve is stopping people from sitting at the placard for hours on end. That's not healthy for anyone involved, and at least they are trying to do SOMETHING to stop that. Would you rather force people to sit in front of a computer for 12+ hours?

I hope they consider to implement a "pity"-system into the lottery. The often you lose, the higher are your chances to get a house of the same size.

I'd be fine with that, or if they allowed you to buy more than one ticket (especially if that's only possible on the personal houses). I'd rather not see either of those mechanics on the FC side of things until SE takes action to kill off the shell FCs.

This is exactly it. The only way a lottery system would solve the problem with newly added wards would be to keep adding wards every other week, or month. But since there are usually 6-12 months at least in between new wards being added (not including COVID delays) no way is that going to make things easier. Again. It’s about supply; more than procurement.
I CAN however see the lottery system working for when houses are demolished. Instead of the hours of waiting and clicking, only to lose to a bot or a relocation—or worse to the guy who just showed up ten minutes ago—has to be beyond frustrating, as that system is beyond unfair.
