Once past that first day and all of the griefers, he's really fun to watch.
I love the mispronounciations (I'm sure he knows and revels in it) and I love how he keeps calling Y'shtola his wife (the one he's gonna marry).

Really, having a nice diversion watching him.
    Favorite moments so far:

NPC's calling him by his last name only so he has to read things like "Alright Bald, lets get going"

Him talking to Papashan about copperbell mines being full of giants and the comment "Giants? Everyone to you are giants. What are they like 6 foot?"

Constantly calling Baederon "Balderon" and during the conversation after his first Echo collapse he mentions he had to drag you because you are heavy and says "Well great now he called me fat, man screw you".

This has definitely given me some fun content to watch while experiencing the old ARR story through "fresh" eyes.

He's allowed to have opinions about things, but someone with as large of a following as his saying "people with pronouns in bios are clowns that you should avoid" does nothing but embolden the hateful in his following. The tweet is still up, and was made 3 years ago, so it could be arguable that he has learned and knows better; however, from just a quick search on twitter for the sake of a quick reply, I couldn't find any such tweet as such. People can make mistakes or not know things, but the important thing is to learn and improve, to actually take the steps. I'd also say with the size of a following someone like him has, people like that should very visibly and publically make improvements. Searching "pronouns" from asmon shows no such thing, even if he's had it buried in a stream somewhere.

It's still transphobia, but I believe the term is moreso microagression. As someone in multiple LGBTQ communities, the general consensus is that "people are free to be who they want and fighting with eachother when we have more important things to handle in regards to our status in society achieves nothing". It's like how transphobic tendencies in the Olympics recently led to the ban of some cis women for how their bodies are.

Edit: Yeah, no, I don't think you condone stuff. Apologies if this feels targeted! I'm just trying to do my best to help people get a cool head on their shoulders and understand things from a broader perspective, definitely not here trying to throw accusatory fingers.
Btw, Asmongold adressed this on his last Stream because he had talked to the Adam Holinsky guy at Blizzard privately and he mentions what you're talking about ( him calling ppl with pronouns in their bios clowns ).
What he says makes sense and was done years ago, the whole thing with it becoming more normalized is a pretty recent thing and it was never meant to be Transphobic or anything like that.

At 27:00 he begins talking about it.

You obviously shouldn't assume that someone is terminally online or a slacktivist because of pronounes in their bio and I think people doing that are stupid, but it's like he says about the flag in bio thing.
There is a connection there but it's sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy and doesn't mean that most people with it are like that.

Edit: I agree with your overall sentiment too but I think the issue with removing comments and tweets etc is that feeds into that loop of bullying and cancelling online, because people see that and realize they can bully you.
I also think it could be argued that deleting it is sorta like hiding your past mistakes and shoving it under the rug.
It's something that really annoys me about a lot of people online who I know for a fact have a shady history of being really shitty who purged all of it and are now acting like it never happened.
I actually have more respect for someone who leaves it and then acknowledges it and that they were wrong.

I don't agree with you however that he has some kind of a responsibility to be an activist about it.
In fact I think that whole idea that streamers and other e-celebs should be people we put up on a pedestal and have preach to us is like everything wrong with internet culture.
I am not saying that people don't do that, just that you shouldn't.
Just because you're a big streamer doesn't make you some arbiter of truth and great intellectual who should be preaching to people and teaching them about everything, we have enough self-proclaimed experts online as it is.

Just by not saying those things again ( and he did adress it now ) and actually calling his chat out on it and treating people on his stream with respect he's already doing more than enough, I don't think he has a responsibility beyond that.
I think this whole idea of purity tests and e-celebs needing to be these great teachers of morality is really toxic and feeds into a very toxic culture.
Especially since I don't believe that a lot of the people who are most actively demanding that are very good people themselves, not directing that at you but just in general.
I think you should judge people just based on how they act moving forward, if the only reason you're acting good is because you're being bullied into it then I don't think it's genuine, the fact that Asmon isn't making a big show out of it actually makes it feel more genuine to me personally.

So as I predicted on this very same thread pages ago, FFXIV has sold out since world famous streamer Asmongold joined the game.

I think the community is the typical gamer community.

With that being said, I feel kinda sad with how some people have acted in our own community about him trying the game. Even though just like his community. I know the loudest is not the most. So i don't judge them.

People freaked out over nothing. To be honest. The only ones that should be worried are the GMS who might have to work a little bit harder to keep the community in check.

I'm not gonna lie, I didn't think he'd have gotten through ARR quests without skipping. I did think he would try the raids. But once I've seen him narrating the initial boring-ass Lv10 cutscenes and making it entertaining I knew he's gonna get past the post-ARR with ease.

I really wish Vet players would stop telling newcomers ARR is boring and a slog. It does have some pacing issues but it’s not awful to play at all. All you’re doing is giving a false bad first impression before they have a chance to make their own minds up.

In comparison with all other expansions, it is. Not to mention, a big partion of new players have reportly quit during ARR slog.
