Right, and the shelf-life of Blue Mage would increase greatly with access to deep dungeons.
It would require its own achievement and scoreboard entry, though, because it defnitely has an upper hand to other jobs when it comes to soloing.
I actually enjoy Blue Mage for what it is, and the alternative playstyle it promotes, but the big flaw with it is the replayability.
If you don't need Allied Seals anymore, there's very little incentive to do the heavy scripted Carnivale fights after you cleared them once. A solution to this would be adding Revelations to the weekly star objectives.
Deep dungeons added to their "endgame" activity would only bring more to the table. I would even say that finding a way to make them into Eureka would be cool, especially because the nature of Blue Magic spells aligns with how the Eureka elemental wheel works.
I had to triple-check, just to make certain... Does the post date seriously say yesterday?, when this kind of comment sounds like some thing only valid back when Lv60 Blue Mage was first released... the modern Blue Mage is amazing, over-powered, fun and diverse, we kill trial, Ex trial, and raid bosses faster than a group of normal subclasses can, and the Blue Mage community even has Blue raiders taking down savage raids.
it was a meme back in January of 2019, and I disagree about wasted potential, as I love Blue Mage and it is my main, and Blue Mages can do almost all content, with only Deep Dungeons, Eureka, and Ultimates not allowed. I do not see this supposed "meme and a waste", that was only true two years ago.
Blue Mage does not even properly start until Lv60, when the Blue Mage picks up Aetherial Mimicry, as that is the real beginning...
judging Blue Mage by its Lv59 and lower leveling slog, is just stupid, and then this mention of "leveled to Lv60 today", which means you are judging Blue Mage without reaching Lv70, without actually playing it, without properly trying it out, without properly or actually learning it, and without having most of its great spells, that a Blue Mage needs to have and experiment with, just to realize how good Blue Mage is.
Dude it's garbage, the whole "we do this" and "we do that" doesn't matter. It can't do story content, it can't do duties, it can't do the bulk of content at all. The way it levels is either A.Cheese or B.Boring and tbh both are boring. "Over powered fun and diverse" yeah it's over powered because it's designed to be as such, but that doesn't mean it's good or fun..diverse sure if you like mini games. They can't do relevant content...you don't see the waste in potential because you don't want to see it and that's fine, but it's still wasted.
Saying something "doesn't start until x" is the biggest copout ever and we use it every time someone new starts this game. "Doesn't get good til Heavensward" this whole concept needs to outright die, you can very easily get the experience of something and the concept, implementations, etc without needing to play it at max leve.l "Great Spells" do not circumvent the asininity in the situation itself, that's like trying to have a serious conversation and going "Oh look shinies". Saying you can't judge something without being at max is just straight booty.
Look I don't give a single molecular dong if you like it or not, if you do cool. I think it's complete trash and a waste of time, energy, resources etc. I hope they never add another limited "Job" again, I hope this whole thing fades out and dies just like Lords of Vermillion did. if a job is going to be added, make it real, viable, and able to do ALL content....or don't add it at all. I will never stop saying it's bad.
Holiday Starts Now, enjoy the solitude.

Probably a waste of my time but eh. You're factually wrong with the claim it can't do the bulk of content since by lvl 70 (its current cap) it can do majority of the content in the game that is SB and below. It's relevant content is not lvl 80 content its other things. Since it's its own thing it has a different set of relevant content than regular jobs so thats wrong.
Blue mage by 60 has begun but you're behind and missing the now main spells for each blue role. To get the experience of blue mage you have to play it at max level since it is its own content. Of course you can do the lvl 60 blue mage raids for the achievement if ya want. It;s already started by 60 so you should try that out before actually judging. Unless raiding isn't your cup of tea then you can try dungeon solos. If you dont like that well idk what to tell ya mate.
Blue mage is a great use of time considering that it was one persons own idea of how to add it to the game while keeping the spirit of blue mage of old. Lets face it, if it wasnt added in this form it would not have been added at all. But since you already wrote off even trying it anymore this post was pointless to make.
Yeh... There is little to no point in arguing with Blue Mage haters. It is better, or at least more of ease, to just ignore them, as Blue Mage has already been around for two and a half years, and it is going to keep being developed and continued, no matter how much the haters hate on Blue Mage. They have no valid argument, but will still argue to death... I only posted my own comment out of exasperation, with little intent to waste my time on a argument, as I run into these haters at least once a week, since I play as Blue Mage for every and all of the activities that I do.
The Blue Mage haters seem to be stuck on for the most part not-valid issues with Blue Mage, about as much as I am blinded by my own bias, since I have seen and experienced most of what Blue Mage can do, in about 3/4 of the game, now.
This guy in particular seems like one of those idiots that think "current" content, is the only "real" or "relevant" content, as if the other 3/4ths of the game apparently does not exist, or perhaps they just refuse to acknowledge that the "old" and "outdated" content that they seem to hate on, is the current and new content of new players, and there-for still relevant content, albeit not for them...
I can comprehend having a issue with that Blue Mage is not allowed in current content, as it is for certain bad for all of the players that wanted to be a Blue Mage in current content, but that is not the only value of Blue Mage.
Blue Mage is not worthless and a waste, just because it is not available in current content...
Additionally, I also agree with the hate towards Blue Mage being locked out MSQs. As a Blue Mage main, it gets on my nerves a lot that I have to waste a lot of my time with other subclasses, leveling them, using them for MSQ, when I have no interest or intent to play any subclass other than Blue Mage... It is really irritating and annoying to have to waste my time with other subclasses, to do the MSQs, to unlock more content and stuff for Blue Mage, when I aught to be able to do MSQs as Blue Mage...
And is still bad and dead. Your point?
Blue Mage is the worse implementation of a class in any MMORPG i've seen, even by quirky class estandars.
All it had to be was a Caster with more support than RDM/BLM/SMN. Maybe use some Allagan gadget-pet that used "Monster Magick" and be done with it, only the more iconic attacks maybe, preferably would have had a proper lore and original skills really.
All what we got is just wasted developer team hours on a booring unfulfilling unrewarding and kinda pointless class, doesn't add anything to the game but itself, might aswell just be enterily removed till they make it a proper Job.
They haven't scrapped it and they haven't revamped it, they just keep quietly adding new units to it. If they won't ditch or rework one of the least liked additions to the game, what hope do you and Vitallian have of getting them to change course on BLU? Especially as people do play BLU, and against all the odds given the initial launch, it has grown to be reasonably well liked.
Thank you for mentioning all of the above!
I'm fairly newish to the game still, but I'm finding that I'm thoroughly enjoying taking my time exploring the game and really immersing myself in ALL of the content I'm coming across as I progress through the MSQ, which means that my pace has slowed but also means that I'm enjoy a veritable ton of content, lol.
More specifically, I've played through to the end of Heavensward with my first job (BLM), just started Stormblood, and decided to stop story progression so that I can take some time to pick up a few extra jobs and learn them while exploring more of the ancillary side-content. And so far it's proving to be incredibly fun! I've already got BLM up to 80 and am leveling up a Tank and Healer (because I love playing all three roles), but as soon as I get them capped I'm immediately going to dive into BLU because after everything I've read, it sounds SO FUN!!!
And admittedly, all of the nay-saying I've been seeing seems to revolve around the idea that every class should be, I guess, the same? Which after there being so many jobs already for each role (and more being added in the near future), is something I don't really understand. If anything, I appreciate the idea of the unique structure to BLU because it allows for gameplay options that'll be completely out of the norm from the rest of the jobs.
Anyway, just wanted to toss in my 2 cents, meager as they are, lol. Even knowing that BLU is "limited", I'm still really, really looking forward to it and am making it a priority right after the holy trinity. ^_^
