Warmage

A warmage is someone who specializes is damaging spells rather than restorative and is generally better trained in martial warfare than a typical mage, wearing heavier armor and using more powerful weapons.

But really, the red mage is already pretty much a warmage, the only difference being their lack of armor. But the toolset and greater reliance on melee is very similar.

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe "warmage" is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era
