I'll simply copy paste my last post in Venandi-who-can't-tell-when-winter-begins their thread:
That's on you. Making an incorrect assumption instead of informing thyself. Anyway, I disagree. It was crystal clear that this wasn't normal. 1. Because it was a month after the last one. 2. Because it was expressly stated to be a fanfest special with different rules (this is the part where 'inform thyself' comes into play). 3. Because even in game the Moogle had a distinctly different mark above it. And 4. Because the tomestone pay out was double what it would usually be.
As I've said before, at some point it ceases to be an SE issue and starts to be a player issue. At some point you're going to be expected to make an effort to inform yourself through the myriad of channels that SE has ready for you to do such with.
I would imagine so. It's why I disengaged, there's no real point continuing with it.

Don't really stress over it. Everything that was on the shop for that event except the Great Serpent ring are available in game in another way, or have been on tome events before and will probably be back again.
If something isn't useful for the thread and is just regurgitated all-high-and-mighty "answers" that benefit no one other than the posters who want to feel superior and put others down, then I'd say it'd be more gracious to not comment.

Yeah, I know, and I actually did get the ring since I always get the exclusive rewards while the event is still on juuuust in case (and thank God for this). But what pains me the most is the time I spent farming the hundreds of tomes that are now useless. That's the part that really stings. The previous moogle events lulled me into a false sense of security with the tomes always still being able to get exchanged after the event ends. And what makes me even more bitter is that out of all the events, this was the one event where I actually decided to not spend my tomes before the end of the event since I paid close attention to the previous moogle event and concluded that we could still use the tomes afterward.

Ignoring my other point doesn't suddenly make this a good suggestion though.Gosh, the forums get filled more and more with people with no tact -.- People make mistakes. It's not about knowing how to read or not. People got used to a certain way the event had been done until that point. Even if they had read the notes (which I personally did), it could easily slip their mind when the event itself lasts for a while.
Just to show how easy it is to miss the note about the items exchange, I went back to watch Meoni's video (since I remember watching it back in the day). He also missed this critical info in his video. I honestly think this crucial info should be mentioned at the top of the page and not somewhere in the middle, lost in an avalanche of other info.
Edit: I came across a video by TheCanadianGamingPenguin and another one by FantasyGirl14 and then another one by Farron Makes Content about this moogle event, and none of them mentioned anything about only being able to obtain the items while the event is running. So as you can see, it's so easy to overlook this detail and it's even easier to berate others for it.

There have been other threads on this but one thing mentioned in those that I don't see here yet is that most Moogle tome events come in with a patch. This one came in without a patch like the seasonal events. So that may be why they couldn't have anything persist after the time for the event.
If you were taking a break, why didn't you spend the tomes before you took a break? I haven't really understood the reason for waiting after you have what you know is the last tome you'll collect from anyone who did that.
Like.. we've gone over all this extensively in the Venandi thread. And considering the time that has passed I think it's safe to say SE won't be bringing it back, I know that's not the answer you want, but it's the answer you have.Just to show how easy it is to miss the note about the items exchange, I went back to watch Meoni's video (since I remember watching it back in the day).
