RPR being created by Garleans is somewhat ironic given they were the ones who were so sanctimonious about those who were conspiring to summon Primals and the like (you know, the whole "go forth and conquer other nations to destroy the Primals" thing), so this revelation just makes the whole country into a bunch of hypocrites, unless the Job was driven underground when they discovered magitek and everything... in which case, they're still hypocrites (I knew they always were, but this just underlines it). :P

What am I saying? The Empire was founded by an Ascian, that their ancestors once conspired with summoning low-level voidsent as well... I think is pretty much normal for them now. :P

Having said that, it does explain one detail though - the scythe, given they were farmers after all, no wonder they took to using their tools as a weapon. So that gets a pass at least. :P

Moral boundaries are afforded to those whose survival is not threatened. The Garleans needing to pick up such things to survive I personally don't see much of a problem with, because I doubt they knew much about voidsent when the job first began. Of course, their attitude after overcoming their oppressors is another discussion that I am not willing to have. Just remember that we are also going to be using voidsent to enhance our abilities as Reapers.

EDIT: Also, remember the whole deal with primals was instilled into the empire by Emet-Selch as Solus, so it may be that Reapers were indeed driven underground after this statement was made... I still think the scythe Zenos is using belonged to Solus.
