I'll stick with Midlander and Raen/Xaela men and hope that we get more options for male characters in the future.

I like playing tall male characters so I was hoping they'd be taller. They're not, so I have little interest in them...which is a personal preference. Hardly anything to get worked up about, in my opinion.

Average height for males in the UK is 5ft 9in, max height bunny men would be considered tall for us Theo so this feels more like a petty thing that the fantasy race doesn't have the males taller than the females for once despite being able to be considered tall by rl standards that surround you.

That's quite a decent amount shorter than females, I'm sure people who wanted to play shorter males would have just made them min height anyway, it's too bad that's max height. It definitely could have been a lot worse though.

definitely could've been worse, coincidentally this is also brother nier's height... so I guess we got that going for us.

I don't see how it's 'petty'. It's a personal preference. I didn't want them to go in such a direction but they did and it is what it is. I most certainly aren't going to lose any sleep over it, though it does make me raise an eyebrow that niche aesthetics are actively embraced often for male characters whereas we still haven't had any of the conventional requests for character customisation embraced and added to the game.

Namely stubble for Midlander men and the other playable races that could make it work.

Not that it matters but I'm six foot two myself. I like playing tall men in games with character customisation.

No, I don't plan to do that. I've only ever switched between a Midlander, Raen and Xaela. Highlander very briefly, though the lack of eyebrows proved too jarring for me. The other options aren't to my liking, which includes Viera men.

Very happy with male Viera. They look amazing, loved the hairstyles they showed off. Satisfied with the height as well, refreshing to get a default shorter male compared to female.
Now if only I could get my hands on the benchmark-

Meh, the boys should be taller. I will be max height anyway so I will be taller than most of the ladies, but it bugs me to have the males shorter, because it feels like they shouldn't be.

Are you claiming that Square Enix are not gathering feedback primarily from the likes of Twitter and Reddit?

For events gone awry? Oh yeah.
For numbers related things? Sometimes.
For male viera? Not anywhere near as much as you seem to be implying. Viera were contenders for being implemented back in 3.0 (if you have the HW art book theres a page or 2 with the concepts), the art team has had ideas of what male viera should look like for a long, long time. From there they just needed to come up with something Yoshi approved. He said in the past they they'd be a cross between male miqote and male elezen. Look at the benchmark preview- male viera very much fall between male miqote and male elezen.

If I can finally get to use all my Aesthetician hairstyles, I'll be very happy, tbh.

Also, about the height thing? My husband is shorter than I am irl, so I don't see the issue.
A great deal of us female Viera players play at min height (mine is min height) so as long as you set your male to the tallest possible, then you'd still be taller than a lot of the female Viera out there.

Adding the aesthetics hairstyles would actually be a great boon for Viera, since many of those are the more popular ones.
