The game does have a "select nearest object or NPC" keybind. I wouldn't think blocking quest NPCs with big mounts would be very effective.

I don't think that's really the point, but on that note I barely ever manually click on NPCs, Retainer bell, dialogue boxes, Aetherytes, etc. I just bind the "Confirm" command to E and EEEEEEEEE my way through EEEEEEorzea.

I expect it's 99% these two which is funny when you think about it really. I admit to being a bit jealous of the ability to effectively sit at home in my underwear playing video games all day and getting paid surprisingly well for it.

But if you think about it, he streams like 8 hours a day every day and has to be entertaining that whole time. That would REALLY wear down most people fast. Honestly his "job" is harder and more mentally taxing than mine.

I'm glad that Square acted with haste before they ruined his experience. He has just posted a video sharing his first impressions with the game and they are almost entirely possible. FF14 is about to get an massive influx of new players

FF14 team not only does the right thing for dealing with harassment.
In this particular case, they must do it.

Because a dumb lead wow developer signal boosted a post inciting abuse of the report system of FF14.
If you are from the FF14 team you have to react, it doesn't matter if that lead wow dev did it on accident, not on purpose, or just dumb. They have to handle this extra seriously, otherwise, they would let developers from another game influence their policy!! (again even if that wow dev is just dumb).
