Oh, to clarify so no confusion, it's still against TOS to use any known exploits and all. If you find something like an OOB you're supposed to report it and kind of leave it alone. At least being highly technical and by the letter of the law. But what I am pointing out is they often overlook it, especially since can't always see everyone who was there. It doesn't mean they have to overlook it and you risk getting in trouble, but it's just not often. The biggest problem is when you do end up sticking out, causing scenes, or just don't know when to stop....they will enforce it TOS and you can end up in digital jail, with account suspended, account banned, or even your IP banned.

In the past, some of my friends and I used to actually have fun looking for them and would do "hide and seek" with each other using things like OOB. But we did eventually pass it along to developers who then added hotfixes to solve the issue of it happening to begin with. Often they were appreciative and it actually got us invites to closed beta tests and all. Granted, that was like 15 years ago when GM actually would appear in person sometimes and there was more community. I'm not sure if they're as equally appreciative and kind these days, as you never do see a GM or staff around except for when they are doing broadcasts. Not to say they aren't around as normal players or hidden from us, just saying we don't get to see and interact with them like they used to. It kind of sucks.

I know just it alone didn't make it a bot, but it's someone who's only ever been on for months, and on top of that, since I could get it targeted, I would know if it's running to the market to do what it's doing, but it's just simply suddenly not being targetable, before I see it fall from the sky right back down under there, with a new map purchase. I just wanted a gm to help investigate onto it, because I was led to believe they can help with that, even if they still can't get rid of it personally for me.

Also, is "spin moves" how people are getting behind the desk in the Quicksands? I always wondered how they did that there, but I wasn't sure if it was just a weird hole or not so I never ticketed those.

Yeah, part of your issue is that GM aren't investigators for that type of thing. You can think of it like this. They have people working in multiple departments, often in different buildings...sometimes even in completely different countries. They all have different responsibilities and permissions. GM don't typically handle bots, that is usually done by their Special Task Force. GM mainly are there to handle things that might directly impact YOUR gameplay. I guess a good example is to actually paste EXACTLY what Square Enix says the role of a Game Master is:

GMs will assist with the following types of issues:
• Harassment
• Inappropriate Behavior
• Activities that affect game balance
• Real Money Transactions (RMT)/RMT Solicitation
• Impersonation
• Grief Tactics
• Item Reimbursement

So everything else goes to technical support, developers/programmers, etc. Often they try to watch behavior to see if it continues or not. They have to look for any impact on coding, find proof it's not a human operating it, etc. If they did find someone under the floor, they won't take action immediately as they'll often want to observe and find out HOW, that way they can prevent it from happening in the future. I mean, if they just get rid of the one character or one account, it can and will happen again in the future. I'm not the best at trying to explain this, but hope it's enough to let you understand. But it's not like GM just warp wherever like a superhero, see things, immediately ban accounts, and then heroically fix programming errors. I mean, the developers would be happy if it was possibly, but they are just normal people doing their job with certain limitations. They don't know everything, can't see all, etc. If they could, they'd be gods! Sometimes they'll be wrong in what they say, but they do try to help. You just have to be patient, get it to the right department, and then move on.

Hello. I was told to bring my issue over here, so I have.

I recently had an encounter with GM Tirmeinoss. I had opened a ticket for something crawling under the ground for a while now, with seemingly nothing to happen. When I eventually got a GM's assistance on the matter, however, they seemed pushy against any help. I asked them for just a small favor, to please go look under me and see if it's there.



And then, you directly lie to me. You say it's not down there, while I'm targeting it. I can clearly tell it's down there, and you lie to me, to defend what's been teleporting down there repeatedly for months.

Is this normal? have all my other reports just been the gm lying that they'll do something? I can't tell what's the expected or not anymore, and it's really really making me uncomfortable. Please tell me why you lied to me, right to my face about what's going on.

Just report and let them do their job. Don't be forceful because that could be seen as harassment.

You can't post private correspondence with GMs.

I wasn't told that being a rule. Besides I thought I didn't have to hide the gm specifically on name because he works for the company, so it's not a player privacy thing.

Both when you create an account for the game and upon joining the forums you are directed to a little scroll text window with a checkbox at the end that says "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service".

The line about not infringing Square Enix's privacy rights. Granted it could be better worded, but confidentiality between player and GM/Dev/Support team is pretty standard in the ToS of all games.

Yeah, that's the FC tag for the one bot you'll see out in the ShB areas. So, park yourself in any of the settlements out in Shadowbringers. My personal favorite is Lakeland's Fort Jobb. You can sit on the side of the building that just overlooks the aetheryte and the Delivery Moogle.

The BBW person who's the group leader will port in, the 7 Wanderer Bots behind them all in HQ Crafted Gear, sometimes glamoured but most of the time not, and for the most part they're all boosted as well.

The Leader runs over to the Moogle to snatch up the Zonureskin Maps that the alt in Gridania has gotten off the market board, which you can watch them buy every few minutes per the History, but they're under the map so you don't see them.

Then it's rinse and repeat watching them port off to the next area the opened map is in, they take off in unison on different MSQ only mounts using follow, then they land and look like Trust NPCs handling fights.

But you are accusing a GM of lying to you. Where is your proof and this thread is not appropriate.
