Actually that was due to my own warning. Because square takes being mean to bots very seriously.

Sorry I hadn't been here for a while. I just tried to distract myself with other things (and figure out a few more controls on here), but I wanted to come back in over this.
I picked Balmung because the friend who recruited me was here, and I wanted to play with him. He's actually who told me to cover the names because its against the rules otherwise.
I never had a gm visibly with me, I just assumed they could be around because my friend's mentioned he's seen them visibly before. So it was all done in pm. As for investigating something, I don't have the actual screenshots of this, but I did save the chat log with another gm regarding another bot related situation. That ticket itself wasn't opened for that (I had a very creepy person in a dungeon, so I was reporting that), but I asked him anyways after the main part was done, and he said:If you are genuine, then there are far better ways to make your point than to come in accusing a GM of deliberately lying because they did something that might be an error, or investigating it may not be something they can do (and they won't or can't tell you that directly).
Turn down the rage and hyperbole, show your screenshots, explain your situation. Act calmly and you'll be taken far more seriously.
Was the GM even visibly there talking to you or was this all via PM?
[3:02 a.m.]>> Gm Wyndallus: Um, can I ask something else that isn't a part of that report?
[3:02 a.m.][GM]Gm Wyndallus >> Sure. What would you like to know?
[3:03 a.m.]>> Gm Wyndallus: From what I understand, if someone is using a botting software, there isn't anything GM's can do about it at all?
[3:03 a.m.]>> Gm Wyndallus: There's a set of 8 a friend's been positive about, and he knows because he's managed to break their thing on more than one occasion. But they're still active even at the moment.
[3:04 a.m.]>> Gm Wyndallus: And I wanna know if there's another thing he can do besides just... filing more cheating reports.
[3:04 a.m.][GM]Gm Wyndallus >> I'm not certain where you heard that, but we do regularly take reports and look into players that may be using a third party program. We do have a special subset of GM's that do those investigations specifically though.
[3:04 a.m.]>> Gm Wyndallus: He said when he tried reporting it once where he'd get a GM response like this, he got a closed ticket saying GM's can't interact with that at all
[3:04 a.m.][GM]Gm Wyndallus >> So, if you were to report an issue like that to me, I would send it over to our STF (Special Task Force) team so they could investigate. They have specialized tools that help to identify bots and third party programs specifically.
So I assumed that that reasoning changed, and they could at least help with my ticket for cheating if I asked. I guess either way, I got told something wrong from someone, but this one I have the chat for is from April, so it's not that old.
I'm sorry if it seemed like I was seeming to hyperbole on it.
He wasn't telling me that though.
Bye bye account
I want to make two corrections here.
(1) Just because you see someone in places where they shouldn't be, that doesn't make them a bot.
(2) A person doesn't have to use 3rd party programs to get places they shouldn't be. Go Google "FFXIV OOB"
If you see an issue, report it. But then your job is done. Unless they are directly causing an issue with your gameplay, it's not for you to stress over. Some things, like OOB issues, have to be fixed in the code. They can't necessarily punish people who just "stumbled" across it. Though if done frequently or for gain, will quickly get the ban hammer. Believe it or not, there are people who have a lot of free time and go looking for areas and things that aren't fully coded right. Such as people who have been able to jump certain ways on bridges and suddenly find themselves walking in the air. Or where you can jump against certain walls just to find yourself walking atop water. It's not a hack or anything, it's just bad programming and quality checks from the developer teams. It's bound to happen due to the amount of code. That said, there are also "exploits" people find. Such as "breaking walls" where people learned by spamming spin moves at (forget if higher or lower) fps will cause your character to suddenly appear behind the wall, as if they broke past it.
I'm confused what you mean?
I know just it alone didn't make it a bot, but it's someone who's only ever been on for months, and on top of that, since I could get it targeted, I would know if it's running to the market to do what it's doing, but it's just simply suddenly not being targetable, before I see it fall from the sky right back down under there, with a new map purchase. I just wanted a gm to help investigate onto it, because I was led to believe they can help with that, even if they still can't get rid of it personally for me.I want to make two corrections here.

Also, is "spin moves" how people are getting behind the desk in the Quicksands? I always wondered how they did that there, but I wasn't sure if it was just a weird hole or not so I never ticketed those.
