I'm not saying the game should be hardcore because it shouldn't, but it's really dumbed down.

I would imagine that the pacing the game has, is because if it had as fast paced gcd's and damage done/received as other mmo's usually have, a good majority of control pad users would struggle to switch hot bars to rotate dps/tanking/heals abilities with their physical pad button combos they need to do , as well as dodge mechs.

If this was a PC only mmo with KYBD+ mouse only in mind , I would expect it to be a faster paced game

FFXIV is too easy imo. And the overworld is so lifeless and bland, only dangerous enemies in the overworld is n A or an S rank

I get on FFXIV, play for 6 mins and immediately get bored and wonder why i paid for a subscription

I get off FFXIV and log onto FFXI

FFXI is a much better adventure MMO than XIV
I have never played XI but I will say I wish that FFXIV had a more rewarding and interesting overworld.

    For overworlds I swear it's

    Elder Scolls Online

    World of WarCraft

    Final Fantasy XIV

I'm not talking about art, I am talking about a world you can explore and find neat things in. Art wise many of the post ARR zones are lovely.

Yeah, I suspected this to be the reason too. The long GCD does bother me even though it gets better at higher levels. I feel like a 0.5s base GCD reduction would be a massive improvement.

I'd say "git gud" to PS4/5 players, but I'd probbaly be labeled as toxic on these forums

Nothing prevents them from using a keyboard/mouse btw.

Elitism is a result of a lot of things. Generally, the longer the fan base has existed, the more toxic it tends to get since people forget that they once had to learn how to play the game as well.

Also, end game content is definitely not one braincell content... not sure what someone was going on about with that one but getting through savage pre-echo is rough and Ultimates even more-so. The bosses all hit pretty hard on the final tiers of Eden with the tank busters.

I'm more the mindset that some jobs at end game are a little rough to run optimally for end-game content, which is the usual song and dance of FFXIV every expansion since HW. Usually we all start seeing cracks in the class / job design for a particular expansion, get a big relief when they change things up next expansion, and then the cycle repeats. E.g. there are people that don't like Delirium on Dark Knight and want dark arts back in some form.

Raiding isnt the entire game of FFXIV, alot of its other content is being neglected really hard, to the point that it is silly how easy they are, such as:

Dungeons, pre ShB Trials, the entire Overworld of FFXIV and PvP, to name the biggest ones.

This has nothing to do with Elitism or toxicity. There is alot of People out there that truly care for the game to the point, they are willing to post in the forums quite frequently to hopefully make a meaningful impact so that those things change for the better. Of course those People get mad if some smartypants tries to defend bad game design where Monsters and Bosses literally beg you to put them out of their misery, since all they can do is single hit auto attacks, a slow cone aoe/line aoe/circle and MAYBE a 5dmg/sec poison DoT that lasts for 12 seconds.

FF14 is not made for hardcore players.
    And that's a good thing.

Well... the game is built for everyone. That's why they have both casual and hardcore content.

No it's not. Why does FF14 cater to the lowest common denominator instead of the best and brightest
