I love this game for almost everything that it has. The housing purchase rng timer is the most unhealthy aspect I have ever seen in a game in my life. You can call it self abuse or abuse by the games systems but regardless the system itself is designed to be on a rng timer that gives reason to groups of players to harm themselves for hours on hours for the small chance to get a small plot of land with other random variables like another home owner moving their plot to that new plot which resets the timer and location. Its depressing and probably has already caused carpel tunnel syndrome to some. It really does not matter if this is a better system than another. This system is leading to so much self player harm its disgusting and depressing. I feel bad for the devs to some degree because I know they dont want us to do this to ourselves and they prefer us randomly stopping by to grab a home instead of camping a plot. Many suggestions have been sent and I know they are trying something for the next expansion but thats still a bit of a wait away and people are still hurting themselves now. I am also guilty of hurting myself here.

I just wish some of the solutions could come out sooner. Regardless I will just give up on my dreams of a house for now. Its not worth this amount of self harm.

Yeah...I just saw someone in my NN who claimed to have been clicking for 12 hours straight before losing the plot they were after. The system is terrible. Hopefully some major changes happen at some point.

I'm glad you were able to recognize your behavior as self-harm and stopped doing it. I'm glad that you're putting your real life health first over pixels in an online game.

Don't give up on getting a house, though. Do it the way it was intended to be done. Check the placard to see if you can buy. If it's not available yet, do other content for an hour or two then check the house again.

Many players do manage to get their house this way even if the plot was being camped by others.

If you're a Discord user, don't forget to join one of the housing discords where players share information about newly relinquished/demolished plots so you have a better idea of the best time to check a specific plot.

If you don't already have an apartment, I highly recommend getting one. It will give you a little space to call your own and decorate while you're waiting. Once you do get your house, you'll have plenty of ideas ready to go.

Do not click placards all day! Wake up earlier when no one's around (5-6am) and check the available plots. This is what I did, I was unlucky for about 10 days but one morning I just walked up to a Goblet plot and bought it. With zero camping! I refuse to do that crap, haha.

I get that, but I have never walked up to a plot where there weren't at least 3 other people trying to purchase it, regardless of the hour of day. One could speculate that people are just leaving there computers on all night and using autoclickers to try to purchase houses so they don't have to sit there all night.

I completely agree that this system sucks. I tried for 3 days straight, clicking for over four hours each day, usually around eight. It's stupid. I'm stupid for trying it. I just really wanted a house after four years of playing, and this is one of the only weeks I have off this summer and could actually sit and click. I gave up when my Apple watch started freaking out because my heart rate was over 120bpm for several minutes just sitting around. Apparently I was more stressed out than I thought.

I will just live without a house. I have an apartment and an awesome guild that will help me with any onions I need. It's the only system that doesn't reward you for grinding unless you are successful. You learn nothing like in raids. You gain no experience. Your chances don't increase as you spend time doing it. I seriously hope farms fix this. I don't need anyone to visit me or bragging rights. I just want a cozy place for my WoL to hang out.

They do, because that was the original system. Unfortunately, house flippers would buy up all the plots and then get people to pay them overpriced amounts to demo. So the timer system got implemented. They still get around it by having someone who already has a house pay them to relocate. Relocation should never have been allowed to bypass the timer.

It is a stupid system and it's very good you recognized what it was doing to you and put a stop to that.

Even so the system is still a poor band-aid attempt to fix it by now you have people who have to compete with the use of their free time, bot users and scores of other player regardless of them getting to a recently demolished plot first because of a timer so not even a first come first serve rule can guarantee you a house.
