Zenos/Shinryu/Ilberd/Nidhogg may be the ?living manifestation of hatred, but we made that monster what it is (from Zenos to Zeromus, if you will). I'm sure that when we climb Mount Ordeals with the twins both Fourchy and the rest of Sharlayans will come around. Besides, we'll need them all to give us their prayers when we're fighting at the top of Pandaemonium during the P12S Part 2 transition.

Lyth, outside of the tank forum? What sorcery is this (is nice to see though)?!

I'd say it's Azem's propensity to never commit to following through with actually ending threats/being a himbo/bimbo about destroying artifacts known to be bad to keep around. He's like the good guy version of Frieza or Thulsa Doom(1982 movie version). Leaves a lot of loose ends, sometimes on purpose. If we'd just killed Ilberd before he jumped, then there would have been no Shinryu.

As for a Mount Ordeals allusion... I don't think we'll be getting that, really. The WoL isn't enough like Cecil, and none of the DRK abilities do 1 damage to undead. I'm of the mindset that we'll be delving down into the Sharlayan's book pit, and Fourchenault will be more of a Dr. Lugae... not in the dialogue department. Just in the unethical experiments one.

Figuring out lore is not really my thing, but I enjoy reading it. I lurk.

Azem doesn't sweat the small stuff. We're here to punch things and nod sagaciously. Evil artifacts? Unless the Eye of Nidhogg starts bullying people or destroying grapes, we'll leave that to the more bookish types. Every one of the punchy scions has someone smarter assigned to mind them and point them in the right direction. Not our fault.

I take your point on Mount Ordeals, although it was tongue-in-cheek. None of the dungeons revealed so far seem to fit, although I'm hoping that stopping Phantom Train also throws in some Mount Coral references from FFVII in addition to the standard FFVI reference. I want to stop a runaway train under a bit of time pressure.

I'm a big fan of the Mysidian arc from FFIV. Not just because of the redemption motif, but because you start out as an outcast, and have to slowly win everyone over to your side. I really enjoyed the end of ARR/early Heavensward for similar reasons. Hopefully the Sharlayan children don't turn us into frogs or flying pigs.

Right now, the thing that has me the most excited is Pandaemonium and that final dungeon vibe that it seems to have going on. I hope they flesh it out as an instance (no pun intended), make it explorable, and recreate some of that classic Final Fantasy last dungeon feel. Maybe throw in a twinkling final save point marker just outside of the P12 arena.

I'm into lore and arguing about it somewhat. If only to see what ideas people come up with, as I like imagining things and speculating quite a bit. Lore's one weakness is there's a limit to it, so we run out of things to talk about. Yay, lurking!

I mean, I wouldn't be against a dungeon that's a mountain laden with zombies, spirits, skeletons, and lamias from the bottom to the top, culminating in fighting a giant zombie with horn spikes protruding out of his chest that ambushes you. I just haven't seen much to cause me to suspect we be getting anything of the sort, though I suppose there's some freedom with what goes on in Thavnair, and they do got that Pride Rock lookin' crystal thing.

We get another train fight in XIV? :O!? Yes please! I musta snoozed through part of fanfest or somethin'

Well, the WoL hasn't killed any Sharlayans that I know of... yet (Louie Six doesn't count, he was already presumed dead). I mean, I guess we killed some in the AST quest line, plus beat up Sevestre, but not everyone has done the AST quest line... (and they should, cause Jannequinard is hilarious) Maybe we'll get hiked up inn rates or something or denied rooming privileges until after the "Vault Moment" sorta thing goes down with the Forum.

Not sure what I'm most excited about. I'm really very curious about the bottom of Sharlayan's book pit, as well as Mare Lamentorum. For Pandemonium my main hopes are they let us fight the Four Fiends, Astaroth, and both Heaven/Hell version of Emperor Mateus (But with an Ascian Twist).

And occasionally (tl, "not often enough") talk people's ears off about Shadowbringers bombshells. Hi Lyth.

The twins can turn me into anything as long as the instance is fun. G'raha was supposed to turn us into a frog to get into the Crystal Tower, but we didn't even have swimming controls at that point. Such a missed opportunity.

I know trash pulls and long corridors aren't very e-sports, but I miss those so badly from Coil. What we have now aren't even raids, just a boss rush. Eden had no feeling of scale.

One of the dungeon reveals teased using a train to move between areas. I think crashing it is a pretty safe bet.

Could you explain that, please? Ilberd and Shinryu I can accept because of improper eye disposal, but Zenos literally goes “hey, I didn’t die after all, maybe I’ll try being a decent person? NAH” so him being a monster is his decision. And what other choice did WoL have in stopping guys like these? They didn’t exactly want to sit down and talk things out.

(If I come off as too defensive of WoL’s actions, I’m thinking about freaking Myste again, I apologize in advance.)

Oh, oh, I know him! I’ve been thinking about that movie a lot recently. If signs are real, maybe this is one I should just go watch it already.

Cutscene WoL strikes yet again (and they should have learned by now with Ilberd of all people!) Don’t you just love it.

They were rolled into one, though. Desch didn't "die" fixing the Crystal Tower. If we absolutely had to keep that, I want a frog level.

They were, in fact, not rolled into one. They just name dropped Desch to be G'raha's ancestor to do a name drop, and they name drop them with Heaven on High, too(them being Princess Salina again too).

Tower of Owen is towards the very beginning of FFIII. It holds the floating continent aloft. The Gulgan prophets tell you how to enter it, and it is they who give you the toad spell. Thus far there have been no Gulgans in FFXIV. You fight Medusa at the top. Wonder if we'll get any in Endwalkies.

Crystal(Sylx) Tower is at the very very end. You require the four elemental fangs to get up to the Labyrinth of the Ancients which surrounds it.
