That name actually makes me want to plant my face firmly in my desk. I'm seriously wondering how many people use the german client because half of these translations just make you physically cringe, while the other half just makes you laugh.

On June 16th an email came to the people. Where people asked what else we wanted to announce again. I have chamfered the result of the mail (unfortunately in German). And nobody wants to allegedly want to see the sage. :thinking

I'm honestly not surprised. The serious healer mains have all become so jaded that they just don't care anymore while the rest is either just dps players who obviously couldn't care less or people who will simply take whatever SE serves them.

I mean, all the Sage trailer showed were the 4 most uninteresting abilities in a healers kit. You got your Physic clone, your Adlo clone, your Broil clone and your Art of War clone, a riveting showcase of what the new healer job can do /s

And that even the New Wild Tribe should have more approval than the wise one worries me ...

That can't be. Either they're deliberately hiding it or they forgot to include it or, I don't know. How can a new class raise absolutely no interest.

im pretty excited for sage but there is no way its gonna be that popular outside of new toy syndrome especially when its counter part job is maximum angst

Very likely deliberately hiding it. If they had some exciting new developments for healers based on player feedback you can be sure they'd rush to share it, but when you have nothing to announce on a new class, it's best not to mention it. Quite possible healers, including Sage, will be another round of 2 button dps overhealers and they just want to keep quiet until Endwalker where they can slip them in quietly and the trolls can try to silence us with "wait until 7.0!"

I spent a bit scouring the four major interviews with YoshiP following the media tour and release of role-action information, and out of roughly 223 questions there were 92 question related to roles/classes.

Of those 92 questions, only 3 were focused on healers. And they all came from a single interview.

Now, this may be somewhat set off balance by the introduction of a new tanking/DPS job. But having an entire role that's undergoing some hefty changes and was already in something of an uproar/fervor over the lack of information following the Fan-Fests and previous live letters, having only 3.26% of your role questions being healer oriented is insufficient. In fact, some interviews went out of their way to avoid addressing healers ("As for the job balance, setting aside healers...") in favour of other roles.
Simply put, we've been left largely in the dark to stew over the changes with little official statements on our concerns, and that's not something you want to have happen with your consumers.

If they downplay the new healer job in the next media tour you can 100% say that the FFXIV development team doesn't care about healers. At all.

Sage was revealed in the February 2021 announcement showcase, along with Pandaemonium, Data Centre travel, Island Sanctuary, the Matanga, and a lot of other things that don't show up on that vote list. I have that email as well, it's talking about the Digital Fanfest from May 2021.

That makes more sense. So it's just gauging the reaction to that specific fan-fest.

I suppose they will reveal more stuff about jobs when the Job action trailer drops.

This is misleading. I got the same email but in ENG, and even voted for it. This is the bit that Heilstos left out:


Sage wasn't even a part of the poll because it wasn't relevant. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why Sage didn't get more than a passing mention was because they didn't want to have it be compared to Reaper in terms of hype and hopes.
