Just really sad that we can no longer turn these in for the rewards. I know it's my fault that I didn't read the fine text, but I just assumed it would be like all of the other moogle tomestone events where you can turn it, but not earn after the event is over. What if someone waiting until the last day to turn them in as they are still farming tomes, but then something comes up in their life? Why can't they turn the tomes in at least a week or so after the event. Just sad that I have all these worthless tomes in my inventory reminding me.

That's why they shouldn't be hoarding it all until the last day of the event. Buy what you want as you earn the tomes for it.

I know people are used to the prize exchange being available afterwards, but really that's a strange approach anyway and it doesn't need to be like that just to ensure people can spend what they earned. You just make sure you've done what you need to inside the event period.

Your hypothetical person just as likely might have something come up that stops them from earning the tomes in the first place. Does the event need to stay beyond its own deadline to accomodate them for that?

I mean most of the complaints that are in these threads are just the reversing of precedent (store being open for a bit after the earn period) and the lack of in-game notification of that change (since normally the Moogle event end-date is stated anyways so people not checking lodestone closely missed that the store times were different).
Both are pretty reasonable complaints although I get it's pretty tiring to see these pop up so much. Wish we could get some sort of official response at least even if it is just a "Whoops, you missed out.", which is the only reason I show up in these.

For the Esoterics event I also held tomes for a few days after the event, then went and unsynced for Nightmare when I realized how long the Magitek Predator dungeon is solo.
That's why the precedent is nice, you can farm all out during then figure out logistics for spending after when you're no longer under pressure to farm Tomes.
It's also frustrating because this is the first time I haven't managed to spend my tomes, and it means that I likely never get the Great Serpent of Ringa that I specifically farmed for as those aren't re-added to later events.
It makes those tomes in my inventory sting that little bit more.
