Krile’s Blessing of Light/Crystal of Light

Oh so Minfilia also has the Blessing of Light as well? When was that stated?

Just to be clear, not every individual (who isn’t an Ascian) with the (natural) Echo automatically has the Blessing of Light too right? Like Arenvald doesn’t have the Blessing of Light does he? And it didn’t seem like all the people Elidibus awoke the Echo in, in the First had the Blessing of Light either? Or am I wrong in this understanding?

It would be safe to assume that yes Minfillia has the blessing of light. Especially when in 2.something when we have the Echo flashback of Elidibus using his dark power on Minfillia and hurting her he states something to the fact that Hydaelyn was protecting her from his Attack. Then he does the same attack to G'raha as Albert's body double and states that even without "her blessing' his attack didn't do much damage due to the fact that his soul was denser having lived through the 8th Umbral Calamity via being a sleeping beauty in the bad future. Also with Elidibus saying that, it would be very easy and rightly so to assume that everyone who was given the Echo, via a more "natural" means. IE seeing the Starshower, would definitely have the blessing of light.

Also for Minfillia there's the whole thing with Ryne being an "incomplete" reincarnation of Minfillia but also having the blessing of light which made her immune to being made into a Sin Eater.

So are you saying that every (non-Ascian) individual who has the (natural) Echo also automatically gets the Blessing of Light as well?
I thought part of what made the Blessing unique was that it was an even rarer occurrence than the Echo itself, or is the rarity only in reference to individuals whose Blessings have been “boosted” by having manifested/created/obtained a Crystal of Light?

You can have the Blessing of Light without ever gaining a Crystal of Light though (or Crystals in our case) - the Blessing is the Mandala you appear on when speaking to Hydaelyn through the Echo, not the Crystals - the Crystals merely act as enhancers that power the Mandala (and thus the Blessing) up. Being granted the Blessing of Light allows someone so empowered a direct aetheric hotline to Hydaelyn Herself and allows the Mothercrystal to step in and interact with that person directly even when the Mandala is 'empty', but aquiring the Crystals of Light as well and filling out the Mandala enhances the Blessing further and empowers it more than it otherwise would. It's amazing enough to gain one Crystal on it's own, rare to get multiple of them, and practically unheard of to fill out the Manadala entirelly with all six of them!

But we're shown plenty of people being given the Blessing (at the same time the player is given it, they're those other 'adventurers' you see flying around the Mothercrystal before you), and presumedly many of those never gain Crystals of their own - Krile is probably one of them.

Hence Krile has the Blessing, but no apparent Crystal of her own (at least, none that we're shown to my knowledge, other than that one from a previous Umbral Era which is apparently "more pure", although Krile never elaborated on exactly why that is).

Yes, I already understand that part. My question is though is that can (non-Ascian) individuals with (natural) Echoes ever *not* have the Blessing of Light as well (not just not having no Crystals of Light)? Or does the Blessing of Light automatically come part-and-parcel with the Echo when the latter is awakened?

So far there is nothing that tells us that people who have had the Echo awakened in them by seeing the Star Shower doesn't have the Blessing Light given to them by Hydaelyn. Not everyone who sees the Star Shower awakens to the Echo but the ones who do either will go into hiding due to them hearing Hydaelyn and still receiving her blessing and refusing the Call to Aid Gondor, or will go about doing what they can to help her. Some will even do a Ysayle and decide to rage against the Establishment that they're from. atleast from what they've made it out to be as well as what the Encyclopedia Eorzea says when it talks about it.

But as mentioned earlier in the thread aren’t 1.0 Legacy WoLs an example of individuals who were awoken to the Echo but didn’t receive the Blessing of Light until later in 2.0?

that's why it's all so confusing. Who's to say that we didn't have the Blessing of Light in 1.0. We never had a Crystal of Light in 1.0 and the Blessing of Light was never mentioned in 1.0. We in 1.0 didn't know or understand who Hydaelyn was. Does that still mean that we never had her blessing either? We can't say for certain due to that era being completely gone. Also the Sahagin, was given a different type of Echo and He never saw the starshower either, His echo was granted to him some how via Leviathan if it was even the echo to begin with. They say it was that but .....

Hmmm, if the Blessing of Light is an automatic part of receiving the Echo (for any non-Ascian), what exactly makes it distinct from the Echo itself then? Because part of why I originally assumed having the Blessing of Light also meant having a Crystal of Light as a requisite, is because when Migardsormr suppressed/stripped the WoL of their Blessing of Light it’s specifically represented by our Crystal of Light’s dimming/being “disconnected”, and we still have access to the Echo even before the first Crystal is reawoken.

lol i'm going to be honest. I've been asking that myself for years

Now this is starting to really make me wonder. Especially due to that one cutscene, and I mean the one at the very beginning where we switch to whatever the advanced job is of the class we start off with. You guys know which one i'm talking about where it shows us using the blade of light against Lahabrea... for 2.0 players it's a dream they're having in which also Hydaelyn is speaking to them with the Hear, Think, Feel and we see the Starshower. Granted I know that part of it could be just them showing off the advanced job system cause i mean the first time I turned into a black mage... Or would you think that is our Echo manifesting in a small way like Mikoto's with the future vision she has?

We 1.0 players (that is the Legacy ones who get the altered cutscenes) at the beginning of 2.0 get that but then we're shoved out somewhere from the looks of it around Amdapor Keep around Gridania afterwards.
