Tell that to the people who are harassing him- they were on his stream so it should be clear who was doing it. If someone's going to do that on a high level character, then they can face consequences for harassing someone- that's how the community can react. Community can't though prevent some people from doing something like this.
Regardless of whether the harassment was large scale or not, the ToS should be enforced. I'm surprised and appalled at some in the FF community, as this is always touted as such a great community, and I recall what happened as being especially bad. I'd like to see the GMs treat this issue like they have done many others, and I hope the ToS will be upheld in future.

It's mainly about how much preparation you need to do both beforehand, and during the situation that makes it difficult. You don't just report the situation, wave a magic wand then everything is pixies and rainbows. Things take time to resolve.
Happens on any game that any popular streamer or celebrity tries, yes. This didn't even surprise me one bit in many regards. Why I was also adamant on the other thread as to just 'let him play the game and enjoy it'He said he knew it would happen. And that it happens on every game he tries.
People often forget he has few million followers and people can play more games than just one. So it's just a common sense to think that he has thousands of FFXIV players fanboying him and some of those are the ones doing the shitty behavior

Harassment is certainly never acceptable.
In my experience GMs don't accept reporting on the behalf of others, but general disruptive behaviors like spamming skills could be reported by anyone in the area.
I've mentioned this in another thread and I'll say it here as well: There's NO excuse for harassment; doesn't matter if you like the guy or not, just quit being bullies, it's embarrassing. This is not who we are.Yes it’s already covered in the other thread, but in case many others don’t go into that main thread, here’s the PSA to the entire community.
During Asmongold’s first day stream today, people in Cactuar were crowding and blocking NPCs, spamming Holy and flashy magic, killing quest mobs, killing all other mobs, blocking mobs with Mounts, for hours.
In Twitch and Reddit, it was claimed that “these were done by his fans who wanted him to quit FF”, which is probable. But some of these harassment also came from max level players wearing Ultimate weapon with rare, difficult to get mounts, so hopefully it’s none of the FF fanbase.

Absolutely agree. The people who did that should be penalized.Yes it’s already covered in the other thread, but in case many others don’t go into that main thread, here’s the PSA to the entire community.

On a positive note, he had a good experience in Satasha with helpful party members as well.
This is just a call of notice to say that the FF community is better than this, and everyone deserves their chance to play and enjoy the game, as much as anyone else. We were all refugees from other games at one point, and regardless which streamer you like or dislike, they should be given the chance to try out the game.
I’m sure someone will call me out for generalizing everybody, that’s not my intention. This was just the observation of what happened today and it’s worth a notice.
I guess we'll never know if things are actually resolved. And preparation is likely not deemed worth it. I expect more of the same in the future.
Who knows. Again, can't just wave a magic wand and solve the issue. Sadly 'celebrities' don't get to pick and choose when their status does or doesn't apply to them. The community or fanbase sadly does that for them. It's not really a situation that will be solved by simply ban waving people, warning people, or suspending them. They'll warn them all, so what? 200 different people will only carry out the same endeavor the following day, and then suddenly the effort that GM went through to try and solve the issue was suddenly fruitless. If you ask me, the situation really goes beyond what a GM would be reasonably capable of dealing with, without it being an incredibly tedious or inefficient process. Situations like these require going beyond just enforcing the ToS, and more in making arrangements.
