



just my opinion, but putting out anything in the face of the restrictions imposed by a GLOBAL REAL WORLD HEALTH EVENT may have had an influence of that.
I guess things may have been different in your country though so you have far higher expectations
The reduction in content was setting in before Covid-19 was even a thing, though. Certainly, it didn't help matters - though it is in itself not the direct cause of the arguable lack of fresh and meaningful content. One could also argue that the game is doing so well because the MMO market as a whole is in a pretty stagnant place right now and it just so happens that FFXIV is slightly better than what is offered by the competition at the moment.
It's also worth noting that people criticising the game often do not do so because they loathe it. They do so because they enjoy it and do not want to see it go down the same path that has led so many of its competitors astray.
