I watch him on YT sometimes and I don't even play WoW. Tried it like 3 times during vanilla and hated the lack of story and the throwaway quests. lol

With that being said I find him very intelligent when he's not in his WoW fanboy persona. If anything, he's very critical of WoW. Biased, yes, but not blind.

And as far as the topic goes, who cares? He'll make people curious about XIV and many will probably stay, which means more money for SE and the servers will stay on a few expansions longer. It's all about the bottom line. So who could possibly be against an influx of new players for an MMO they like?

I'm actually glad I'm on Crystal (not because of Asmon not coming to it), it's very laid back. I also don't care that we don't have a real hardcore raiding scene.

I am not worried about Asmon coming over. I have been watching his streams for close to a year now and his second YT channel where he does more vlog like content. He seems like a very chill, laid back guy behind his streaming persona (even then I don't find his persona that toxic.) As far as his community goes, a lot already plays FFXIV, you see them talking about it in his chat, they are quick to answer questions about FFXIV etc. I don't think it will be as bad as some people are making it out to be.

That would actually help the game though. Their resources are better put towards having gm’s deal with petty squabbles because someone’s feelings got hurt instead of actually doing something about a rampant problem in the game for years. Priorities geez

If they were willing to toss Arthars and Xenosys into GM jail then I promise you they will do it with him with how he acts on his main channel.
