I'm not sure where the the thread started in all of this but the long and short of it is, you can play how you want. However in content like Bozja, a certain level of solidarity is expected. You can focus on dps, but if you're not in a group with a healer then you're relying on the kindness of strangers. I mean I get it, you want to play the way that is more fun for you but to not be willing to work with the players around you means that you are basically treating group content like solo content and it would probably be easier for you to do that with a group of like-minded individuals in the roles you need. Just saying.

Hilariously childish, not to mention selfishly approaching content you don't even have to do if you dislike it that badly.

DR is being cleared most of the time because people need the timeworn artefacts, not because they like the content that doesn't need the holy trinity. I don't need to adjust to anything but the things which I enjoy doing and being dps with healing actions is not one of them. I don't have to suck up anything nor put up with bs. If I don't like playing with the party members I got I leave.

.... Yes? No one said otherwise? Most people are doing it for relic or for drops/mettle? Like idk how you came to the conclusion I stated anything otherwise, but you do tend to make some leaps in logic to justify you not wanting to adjust in content that actively gives you the tools to do so. If you don't enjoy Bozja, don't do the content and inflict your sorry lazy self on other people. This is a team-based game, DR is team-based content; if you aren't willing to work with and help your team by adjusting things (if it's even needed), you shouldn't be doing team-based content. Or playing a team-based game, for that matter.

This is just ludicrous. How, just how do you even think you have the right to complain about the run taking longer when you are practically part of the reason why it is taking longer (dps with heal action and saviour essence, #Iamsogudatthecontent @Bellsong).

The process takes longer. Learn to read. People with your attitude, who just cry and whine and moan about "oh no no tanks and healers and I refuse to adjust to compensate for them in content that GIVES ME THE TOOLS READILY AT THE START", constantly dropping out because god forbid the Holy Trinity not be present in some degree in your DR runs, are actively making the process take longer for others to get through. Either by slowing the run down by forcing teams to go with less people (since for some godsforsaken reason you can't get replacements in DR), or by consistently forcing runs to all drop out and requeue.

Suck it up buttercup, or don't do the content you are not forced to do.

90% of the time I want to go Profane and Seraph Strike, or Deep Irregular - but I pack other things and use those other things if it turns out I need to adjust to what the group or raid needs. A wild concept, I know.

Though to add to the actual thread itself: did a very late Paradigm run tonight with a friend, double heals. I'm pretty sure the only person besides us who had the braincell was the black mage, as they didn't drop once despite the multiple deaths of every other DPS in the group, AND the tank.

I know a few of them were new, so that's fairly forgivable at least; but the worst offenders were one of the RDMs and the BRD, who just... ate everything. One was heavily geared and not new to the run, too (had some glamour pieces from Paradigm on) - so I just don't know if they were lazy or what. I stopped ressing them around the third boss.

Our tank, though... also not new, or at least I assume not since he had a piece of glam on from Paradigm. Not sure if he was just bad, or was intentionally playing like garbage to make our jobs harder, but the guy was eating vuln stacks like candy and made active effort to get hit with an unmitigated TB. Honestly not even sure how he survived that, since he had a habit of popping Living Dead after we used Benediction.

Not the worst Paradigm run I've had, to be fair... but I genuinely wonder what goes through people's heads sometimes.

Precisely this I get it that some players doesn’t like to sway from the traditional T-H-D Role Trifecta—I like it though So if they don’t want to adjust, then I will. Need heals? Let’s chug savior & make use of those Lost Cures! Need tanks? I have plenty of tanky essences & Lost Incense! Geronimo! Need neither? Let’s go complete ape$hit w/ damage!

Had a run of WoD that was a bit rough at first, with a ton of new people and some folks who were a bit sour, but with some explaining and patience, we all made it through - only the first boss had a wipe.

It felt pretty good to explain mechanics to new folks, even though a lot of the stuff gets a bit more clear in later raids - though I did get to explain that the Pyretic from the dragon (as we saw it right before it died) is a bit more of a rare one and is pretty lethal if you don't know what to do about it.

Today I learned something new about LoTA.

If someone pulls early and the lanes get sealed off, and there's not enough people inside, the giants spawn and kill those inside. This also leads to everyone that's outside of the boss lanes to be immediately teleported into lane A, even if you refused to take the free tele inside, and then get slapped by the Iron Giant that's racking up kill points on the unfortunate folks.

I was the unfortunate blm that was standing outside due to someone pulling early, thinking I could just stand there and wait for the reset. Game said I should kindly take an hor d'oeuvres of LoTA dirt, fresh from the oven.

Definitely a lot to unpack... but, I mean... are they wrong about the mentor system?
