Furries are just fans of anthropomorphic animals. If there's an anthropomorphic animal, then it will be liked by the fandom, period. Said fandom has always existed. Hell, you could consider the Egyptians to be an ancient furry fandom due to how they worshiped several anthropomorphic animals as gods. It's just incredibly vague on what qualifies you for the fandom to the point where anybody and everybody can qualify for it technically depending on what an individual sees as a qualifier. Just liking Bugs Bunny can qualify you depending on the person.
