I'm not sure male hairstyles would really win in a hairstyle contest. The overwhelming majority would probably be more unique female (feminine) styles, or unisex styles. Most wanted male hairstyles are fairly basic in comparison.

Since the last contest we got a few unique styles (like the pompadour style) but mostly we're getting styles that are VERY similar to each other, and largely were reactionary to styles we didn't have when the contest was launched. If we repeat it now, we'll just have another several years of reactionary styles to everything we were given in the most recent style contest. It was an interesting attempt on Square's part to let us give feedback, but feels like it's dragged on for way too long now.

If anything, let people submit styles, and Square can look them over and decide what things are commonly coming up and create looks based on that. But we don't need several years of basically the same look... also we do need them to start creating more hairstyles that are aimed at both male and female toons as opposed to these more androgynous styles we have been getting.
