Why in the world would they not let us turn in Moogle Tomes???

You should try reading event notices more.

For seasonal event's yes. Because it's made clear over the years that they do completely go away at the given date. However these moogle tomes have previously stuck around even after the tomes were no longer obtainable and thus players have been conditioned into not caring too much about the date the even would end on the expectation that they would still be able cash in their tokens.

As someone who didn't bother because with the event because I didn't really care about the rewards, I see no reason for SE to not allow a grace period to trade items in.

I get ending the collection of the tomestones, but why not give people more time to turn them in? It costs them nothing and it's how prior events worked. Yes, they said in the event info, but that doesn't really make this a better choice just because they announced they were doing it this way.

Asking for a Grace period does make perfect sense, except people are arguing for a grace period after the fact.

To be honest i never read whats on the launcher page, i just click play. Some ingame mail about events like in other mmos or mobile games would be nice.

There's a big purple message in chat that mentions the event, some details, and where to learn more. This also refreshes and reposts if you world travel.

The grace period was the entire length of the event.
