    I could care less. It is maybe 3 quest at most or maybe 2. I don't care but do not throw out the entire RPG element of this game that keeps me connected to my job. As I told you I am a Paladin not Tank Role.

    Imagine if in Heavensward the Dragoon quest was just Physical Melee damage quest and that was it. Apply this to Stormblood. Now all of the Monks, Dragoons and Samurais all get the same quest.

    We finally get the Paladin focused expansion and I get told I am only getting some generic tank role quest. It is enraging honestly how lazy it is. The only reason they are getting a pass is because they hit a home run with Shadowbringers and the role quest made sense in relation to the setting and story of Shadowbringers.
    I mean, just because you don't care, doesn't suddenly make individual job quests a non issue on the development side of things. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing them go back to making those, but I completely understand why they opted to develop role quests instead. From a financial and work load perspective, it simply makes sense. Sure, they are making a ton of money, but how much of that money actually goes back into the game? I doubt it's as much as some may think.

    Do you know what takes even less work/financial investment than role quests that nobody wants to do? Not doing job/role quests at all.

    If a storywriter wants to take a bit of time to expand out a bit of job lore, by all means, encourage them to do so on a case by case basis. But please don't do it for the sake of doing it. I really, really don't want to explore why Rogadyne McMuscles is interested in absorbing tankbusters for his team to protect them from the auto-positioning boss. You're wasting your money and wasting my time. Ten to twenty levels of baseline job introduction/lore is just fine. If people like the lore, expand on it in an optional capacity.

    I know they are making money hand over fist with FF14 and obviously made enough to go give Nomura more money so he can go set it on fire with that FF1 prequel. I just want them to take care of the golden goose.

    Most of the job quests sucked anyway, it was often a bit of a chore to get them done and I'm glad they're gone. The one quest check-in at level cap works fine for me.

    I like job quest stories, but I also hate having to do them so often. Tbh they should, if anything, cut down on old ones by putitng like the same story in half the number of quests.
    Anyway, ShB at least has 1 quest per job at the end, the only problem is that they don't have the blue marker so unless you specifically google for them or do ALL side quests you'll never get to do them. The marker I think also only shows if you're on that job so...I just wish they'd make them more evident, or add them to quest tracker? Because as it is I keep forgetting to do them even though I maxed all job like a year ago. But I hope EW keeps at least that, 1 single quest per job per expansion.

    To be honest the quests were fine. You had the role quests, then every class got an individual quest at 80, then you had another quest for doing all the role quests which had quite an interesting plot overall. It didn't feel like they cut corners and considering the number of jobs will only grow I'm glad they're planning ahead for the future and managing their resources (something they've struggled with in other areas).

    What I strongly suggest to EVERY single person commenting in this thread or a developer reading this thread is goto any of these "So I played WoW for x years and now I am trying FF14" post literally everywhere and you will see why keeping job quest is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IN AN MMORPG!

    You have to understand my opinion of this is informed by my experience of Blizzard doing exactly what Square Enix is doing right now and it was a MASSIVE MASSIVE mistake. There was a time when you had Paladin quest.....Warlocks used to have to go on quest to obtain their pets.... Warriors used to have to compete in a battle arena to learn their attacks. I remember WoW players at WoW's peak telling me it was no big deal and it was more convenient.

    I cannot stress how important these quest were in building a connection with your class in WoW and how bad it hurt the RPG aspect of the MMO to watch it get watered down, stripped out with no real replacements. It cost more money and subs then money they saved by not making a quest or 2 once an expansion.

    In the end getting rid of class quest allowed the devs to basically homogenize the tank classes to the point you could barely tell the difference. Class/Job quest FORCES a developer to recognize the difference and explain why something makes sense in the lore for that job. We are starting to see this now.

    Right now you have to understand that Square Enix is telling every Paladin in the game that you are no longer a Paladin but Archeatype tank with no special difference between Gunbreaker, Warrior or Dark Knight anymore. We all do the same tank quest.

    They are stripping out the ROLE PLAYING ELEMENTS in a Final Fantasy game for the sake of time and convenience and I think the community should be extremely concerned. This is a mistake that will come back to haunt Square Enix as the MMO will start to feel devoid of any connection to its RPG elements maybe not this expansion or the next but I promise you it is coming.

    I don't know how long we can keep saying it, but their exclusion wasn't about convenience. It simply could not be logistically possible forever as they kept adding more and more jobs while keeping the same release schedule.

    2 quest for each job over a 2 YEAR content development cycle. I am not asking for a new Ultimate here. Just something that gives a little backstory to why I got this cool new shiny ability. They had no issue doing these job quest from 1-70 then threw them out of the window for Shadowbringers.

    Let me remind you. The reason Shadowbringers was so good is because the developer who wrote the Dark Knight job quest got a chance to show her skills and was praised for it.

    I don't like what they did with the job quests in ShB, with that said...

    It just seems like they're saving resources. Back in ARR, there were less jobs overall and generally I'd say the game wasn't as expansive as it currently is. For me personally, there was nothing inherently "RPG" about any of them. It was excrutiatingly boring to finish them and unlock actions to complete your toolkit. The endless amount of text didn't alleviate the feeling of being forced through them unless you skipped it. I don't miss them at all.

    The only job quests I'll probably miss will be the DRK questline. Otherwise, what they're doing now is absolutely fine in my opinion. That's the direction they chose and I hope they deliever on it.
