I spoke to a friend recently who said that the man himself isn't a bad character, it's just that he has lots, too many, bad followers that he seems to make little effort calming or correcting through the leadership he has achieved.

What's sad is that we have to worry about toxic players that have been conditioned to be toxic by their peers following the herd like mindless teenagers on a playground looking for someone or something to bully.

Reminds me of some people who whine about weird things like "one dungeon" per-patch, but the fact is we did get a new 5.55 dungeon, it's called Dalriada.

And we gained Critical Engagements and Duels. Think there's more than 18 of those.

Someone on reddit did the math a while back, and ShB is not lacking in bosses compared to previous expansions, nor is it lacking in unique weapon models. I wish i could find it, but i'm not big into reddit so i didnt save the post.

YoshiP actually counts Criticals as the same effort as creating dungeon bosses. So people who belittle your facts should take it up with the Director!

I cannot see how having a kick at people who idealize the game and the community and treat "dissenters" very disrespectfully for daring having a different opinion being potentially faced with an opinion or a fact that would bring the worst out of them simply for being stated is worse than wanting to gatekeep people because they played a certain game and branding them with a lot of very harmful labels baselessly, sorry.

When people say "GCBTW" or "the community" in this case it's snark meant towards that very specific group of very toxic and hypocritical individuals.

Indeed and can be applied to a handful people in this thread alone.

Asmongold is not very toxic or problematic at all, if you look at his personal videos or follow him for some time you see that he's a pretty decent guy but it's easier to jump on the bandwagoon of hating someone cause you heard other people's lies about toxicity and other fun words.

His chat is pretty shit though, lot of tryhards and toxic but should that stop someone to try out a new game?

After all these years FFXIV has finally been recognized as a legit MMO. Square must be thrilled, and seeing the popularity/activity of this thread it's clear the community is overjoyed as well. I just hope we're all ready.

Now we just need the actual company to recognize it so they hire more staff and stop taking money from our game

Its just tragic that Asmon was always the best FFXIV content creator even before he said he'd play it. Theres simply no content creators out there for this game.
Yes we have some known players, which have this role because they started making guides (which players watch to progress) waaay early. But you can only make so many guides ... and after you have done these ... what are you gonna do?

Only exception for me is zepla hq, which can be fun to watch.

Let him play what he wants, remember that a lot of Internet famous ppl have a character they play because its what got them successful and money. The old school AVGN comes to mind. This can be seen on his 2nd channel where hes not shouty and in your face, this has 0 impact on any of us (if we choose to) dude just wants to play.
