Just came out of a Dalriada run and don't really know what to make of that...

So everything starts off normally, people greet each other, partys are being made, I'm invited in a party with another healer (I'm AST) so everything is all good. No party volunteers for top or at least, I don't see it. So I keep an eye on the bikes and notice only 4 bikes are being taken. I stand close to the bikes for at least a minute to observe if anyone is planning to take them but no one comes, so I tell my party that I'll be going top to help out. No reaction in chat, no one asks me to please stay bot, so I guess they are okay with it.

I go up and three more people (I guess randoms like me but of course I don't know it at this point) follow after me. Once we are all there another person calls out that top is ready and we start. Everything is very smooth and we kill our boss before bot finishes, but suddenly I'm getting kicked from my party.

When we rejoin the others, I ask for an reinvite since my party kicked me...and oh boy, then it starts. Two people go off at me in yelling chat, accusing me of _STEALING_ the bikes from their poor little teammembers. I'm a bit taken aback by this and tell them that I'm sorry, but I waited next to the bikes for like forever and no one came to take them, so I thought no one wanted to go up anymore. They continue blaming me, telling me I couldn't read, since they apparently wrote they'd go top at the very beginning. Again I'm confused as I don't remember seeing that message (and I joined right at the beginning of the que), and apologize in case I missed it, but again nicely ask for a reinvite since I'm still without a party. But according to them, 'thieves' don't deserve one and I'm left fending for my own, since I'm not a teamplayer anyways.

I finished the raid alone without much hassle, but it still sucked to be blamed like this for just wanting to help out. It has been a while since something like this has happened to me, so I have to say it upset me quite a bit. Guess when doing Dalriada, I won't be helping out top anymore in the future, even if they ask for it.

Oh, this happens all the time in Dalraida. I've been kicked out of a party for "Stealing a bike" before. You don't just "call" bikes. Just go top if you like, makes no difference. Especially if players are wasting time sitting around deliberating on nothing.

A lot of players think, you "need" a party in Dalraida, and try to "punish" others by not inviting you to a party - this has happened to me a few times. You don't, at all. I've played party less quite often in there.

Had a couple (a tank/healer combination) in Praetorium that I honestly should have reported for harassment.

The run started out normal enough. Other tank didn't immediately turn on tank stance at start, so I turned on mine and took lead. The party did the normal run through mobs getting to each of the elevators. No one died, no one got left behind.

First boss happens, I pull as I normally do, then notice the other tank has turned on or left on his tank stance. I do what I normally do when assuming the role of MT there, and finish the fight with around twice the other tank's enmity.

No one says anything, dungeon proceeds normally. In the second boss fight, the other tank provokes after I had built up my opening enmity. Still nothing is said, so I figured, why not, a good old fashioned tank tug of war might keep things interesting. From that point forward, I basically change my strat to provoke after each of their provokes.

By the end, I noticed something was really off about the enmity he was generating on later fights. That's when I then noticed the sight and sound of... tomahawk spam.

We finish the run, and that's when it really got nasty. The two of them started spamming the laugh emote at me. I swapped over to the battle tab and scrolled up a bit to be sure, and yes, tomahawk was certainly spammed throughout the fight, so I asked if tomahawk was for max DPS. The other tank said something about me only pulling ahead because of provoke and I mentioned that I mostly provoked only after he did. The other tank quickly left after that (I guess he thought I didn't notice the games he was playing).

The healer, though, was something else. At that point he basically shot off something about "playing tank since 2.0 and logging more hours than I could imagine". He also said something about provoke and shield lob (and the like) were so useless he didn't even have them on his hotbar (I bet he's real fun in fights that require tank swapping).

The guy was just plain toxic, calling my gear bad, my skill bad, etc. All the while, I knew what I was doing, why my gear is the way it is and such. And now, looking back at his lodestone page, I realize that he wasn't even cap level on everything (I didn't bother checking in the duty) but basically acting like he was some sort of god of the game that had done everything and knew everything.

It was abundantly clear during our chat, but even more so now that he really didn't have any ground to stand on with his claims. I mostly stuck around chatting with him at the end because I was laughing (without letting him know) at how he was. It's funny that someone could really be that bad off, but also a bit sad because I know guys like him are a bit more common than we'd like to admit sometimes here. I'm just glad I don't tend to run into that too often when I do decide to go ahead and run a roulette.

    This here, 100% true.
Personally I’ve never been kicked out of parties myself, but there were few times when I & my friend decided to just duo our way through because people simply did not invite us and suddenly we’re both stranded. But both of us are always prepared well to hold on our own (we support each other but clearly we don’t need to. It’s just to make our lives easier). Then turns out some of those ‘full parties’ are actually having trouble to keep up; the most common problem are mostly lack of healer.

There was one time I ran as a DNC coupled with Savior Essence & 10 Ray of Succor buff with the whole raid consist of 24/48 players.. I and my friend came in about 15s before starting so we figured we should break off the party and yell for inv… but nobody picked us up. Oh well, we partied back up again. We were on bottom group noticing how slow the DPS, realizing that the whole raid were struggling to stay healthy with only 2 existing green classes—one of them running Profane. My friend half jokingly yelled: ”Got a DNC running on savior healing me with their beefy 48k Cure III and juicy 32k Curing Waltz :V just two of us.” in hoping that somebody would say something & pick us up eventually. But nope. Instead, they blamed that Profane WHM. Y’know what? Their loss. The player count clearly tells that we can form 3 full parties but for some reason none of them wanting to pick both of us up & turn to blame the Profane WHM. /shrug

As for bikes though.. in my opinion, it’s free for the taking as long as somebody didn’t call it out. Then again the encounter is so easy it barely makes difference unless somebody does an early pull for whatever reason or simply derps heavily.

People rely too much on parties, and don't come prepared at all for DR/Castrum/Dalraida. Lucky if they bring anything that makes them self-sufficient. It's like 90% of the lost actions or essences don't even exist to them, and this is just another regular alliance raid. Your story is all too common. Only good thing about a full party is the LB3, or if there is like a DNC or AST, etc. (party buffs in general) doing their jobs properly.

The top section is painfully easy. I don't see why people complain if someone "takes a bike". I've never been kicked from a party for doing it though, nor have seen it.

I'll never not hate tanking alliance raids. Tanks provoking mid fight for no reason despite not wanting to pull, other tanks standing right on top of you even though they're not MTing just so they can bait mechanics right on top of you and refuse to adjust around you. When you don't pull to force provokers pull instead but they spin the boss a full 360 before deciding to tank in spots melee can't position in.

This is the bane of my existence currently. Well, that and constantly being lambasted just because I expect people to be reasonably competent in DF content. If I hear mad, relax, or chill one more time I'm gonna have an aneurysm.
