http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpftrjYCzpACan we please have some vocal songs in ffxiv? I'm just in love with ffiii-2's bodhum song. I think it would be awesome to have some sang themes. Don't get me wrong, I love the music of final fantasy xiv, but I think I heard no vocals so far. It would be an awesome addition. Maybe for 2.0.
What do you guys think?

But that's a boss music. Eheh I mean, if you had to hear that most of the time, you would turn off the volume.![]()

And that is perhaps a good point. Would you seriously want a vocal track repeating over and over while you're grinding in an area? It can work in single player games, because you might just pass through an area once. In an MMO however, you may have to go back to a place many times to travel through it, level/farm, or help other players with the content. So, music in an MMO works best if it's something that's more in the background, a theme to set the mood rather than a song. Unless it's special occasions, like cutscenes and boss fights.

As much as I enjoy the Bodhum music, I feel like it would get incredibly repetitive in FFXIV, especially if we don't have day/night sequenced music. Which I really hope is implemented later on in the game. Just slower, more mellow themes for each area at night would be a fantastic addition. Can we please have some vocal songs in ffxiv? They could try that with vocals, but again, people are already complaining about music being repetitive. Vocals would not help that situation.
I know, but for example, the gobbue mount could have a song like that. Or, they could offer a vocal on/off for the song. I think it would be pretty cool. The vocal song, played in bodhum, is lowered and not that loud as played by the YouTube version. They could use that like they did with the chocobo mount song here in ffxiv. When you are standing still is lower, when you are walking it raises a littleAnd that is perhaps a good point. Consider how often you use your mount to get around. Trust me, it would get annoying having a vocal track each and every time.
Yes, that's why for people that don't like vocals, a on/off vocal would work. Maybe it's a lot of money to make a vocal song, but still, Who doesn't get with those songs stuck in your head humming them over and over?![]()

My point is, if the average person is going to turn the vocals off, there's not much reason for them to add them in the first place. Simply put, they shouldn't put vocals in anything a player is likely to do repeatedly, and especially not in any situation where the music may need to start and stop often, such as in a zone where it will keep getting interrupted by battle music, or on a mount where a player will be getting on and off.
It's horrible design to add voice to things like that: The players WILL get sick of them.

Final Fantasy XIII Oerba
something like this would be amazing I wish this song was in the game now it's so perfect and simple and the vocals aren't to overpowering. I honestly messed around in the town for awhile just to hear it lol
I do think simpler themes are great as well I really liked the simplicity of Gustaberg from Final Fantasy XI something like this would fit somewhere like Nanawa I think
Gustaberg Theme
