Considering he was talking about raids and savage....and is only lvl 18 I highly doubt much will come of this.
He's probably using FFXIV as a platform to trash talk Retail WoW.
The guy probably spends more time promoting skillshare then he does playing actual games.
We're sadly just the rebound chick. Not that Bellular is all that insightful in his opinions. He is good for giving patch contents in a bite sized format without a lot of fluff, but his opinions are not always based in reality. At least, it sometimes felt like he was channeling Ion more than forming his own thoughts.Considering he was talking about raids and savage....and is only lvl 18 I highly doubt much will come of this.

FFXIV already has plenty of good and established content creators, so he'd have a lot of trouble trying to make space.
14 is not really fertile ground for content creators. Outside of raiding content 14 is boring as sin to watch.
So, I watched the clip on Bellular talking about FFXIV raiding.
First things first, the format is framed as Matt explaining the system to Bellular at a surface level. So Bellular being level 18 doesn't matter.
Second, explaining the system allows Bellular to compare with his own experience with WoW raiding and forms an opinion based on his own experiences. Again, Bellular not having raided in FFXIV doesn't matter because the subject matter doesn't require him to.
If everyone has to experience something for themselves first before having an opinion, then the internet and the entire world would be a much quieter place. (Maybe that's a good thing...)
It is one thing if the video is Bellular's guide on FFXIV raiding, but it's not. Then again, if it was a guide, then Bellular has a team that could inform him about it and he'll have to get enough information about it to make a proper guide, depending on what type of guide about it.
The good thing about having a team is that you can be the talking figurehead without having to experience everything yourself and still be informative about a subject.
But again, that's not what the clip I saw was about, unless people are referring about some other video.
I mean I turned the video off when he said "I liked Trial of the Crusader."So, I watched the clip on Bellular talking about FFXIV raiding.

I'm not familiar with that WoW raid. Is that referring to a one boss fight or is that the no trash part?
Regardless, fair enough, but everyone can have their own opinion. So if Bellular actually thinks something about FFXIV raiding is more to his liking, then that's what he's going to share. People can watch that and still be informed enough to make their own opinion about it.
TotC wasn't that bad a raid, man, and it was effectively bonus, much like the Sanctums except with more than a single boss.
We'd already gotten the Naxx rework and friggin Ulduar. Personally, I was glad to have TotC while ICC was still being developed, and the bosses seemed decent enough.
Eh it still comes off as a civil pissing contest between WoW and FF XIV during the content drought retail WoW is going through with the delay of 9.1 and the emerging predatory practices of TBCC with paid boosty bois and Dark Portal Season Pass.
Too much talking and not that much playing.
To take someone like Bellular seriously I'd rather see one video talking about XIV and have nothing said on it for about 3 days to a week and put in the time to play the actual game because for any MMO and not just WoW or XIV you need more then a weekend to give a reasonable review on the game and all it's systems.
And I'd rather there be a XIV video that has nothing to do at all with WoW. Just Belly playing the game and commenting on the game he is playing. That's it.
Though with recent 10+ minute videos with a proud "paid promotion" notification in the upper left pane of the video itself not much is left to the imagination to what it's true purpose is about.
ToC was a one-room instance that is very much known to be the most disliked from Wrath.
The thing with TotC was that -- going from Ulduar to the randomness of ToC was just not good. Poor mechanics, no meta achievements, no unique tier set, forgettable bosses (Jaraxxus isnt remembered for his fight at all), too much RP talking, etc.TotC wasn't that bad a raid, man, and it was effectively bonus, much like the Sanctums except with more than a single boss.

You do have to remember that Wrath at this point was a mixed bag -- the only good raid tier was Ulduar up to that point with Launch Wrath being questionable (welfare epics, two rehashed raids, Death Knight being completely imbalanced, etc.)
