ARR suffers a lot from the fact you are unlocking everything. Attuning to aethernets, unlocking mounts, your mount speed is slow at first. It would help if
I have played through ARR since the revamp and it's not so bad actually. When you do dungeons in ARR though, you do about 3 in a row suddenly and that is exhausting after doing quests all day.
- You unlocked aethernets when attuning to the main aetheryte.
- You can use other mounts, such as gifts or collectors edition mounts, even without unlocking the chocobo mount.
- Your mount speed is 2 stars from the very start in ARR.
- Dye and glamour prism unlock quests were removed. This should be universal knowledge to everyone in Eorzea.
- Class quests had a different icon than the blue one, so when we tell people to do them, we don't also get them to unlock all classes in one go.
- You were prompted at the start whether to show or hide side quests that aren't blue.
- Give a stack of 50 aetheryte tickets at the beginning. I get these because I've played a long time but new players don't and they don't have a lot of gil.
When I get to the first dungeon in ARR I usually go to sleep so I have the energy to do 3 dungeons in a row. It's not just the dungeons being close together, it's that there are far more in ARR than in any expansion. I don't know how these would be removed without rewriting the story.
I don't agree with reducing the GCD or more actions, because I've seen plenty of videos of people struggling with the few actions they do have in ARR. The GCD speed in this game is a lot better because in other MMOs, it's so fast, that I am button mashing.
- The Thousand Mows of Toto-Rak could be replaced with fighting the final boss in a special instance and the dungeon made into a sidequest.
- Brayflox's Longstop could be skipped and made a sidequest. We literally go in there to get cheese.
