No. It's quite easy to tell when player(s) are underperforming with a quick glance at information available in-game. What is this thread anyway?

I would like to know how one can tell if others are underperforming if you can tell how. I personally cant tell unless I can visually see that they are distracted and just not doing their rotation and following boss mechanics.
And this thread is about what is parsing because I kept hearing for years but I finally remembered to ask since it was mentioned earlier![]()
Actually it's pretty easy to tell without a parser just by observing other players, debuffs on the boss and how long a duty is taking.

It's normal paying attention you say but you also just admitted to being unable to tell when someone is underperforming? Mmh...
Something that's useful is parsing and putting your numbers through xivanalysis to figure out what's going on and what to work on.

I cant tell number by number no! Of course not!![]()
Normal environmental awareness, absolutely yes!
This seems like something that may keep the community quite divided if parsing is so important for progression...
It's vital for min-maxing, which is one of the main appeal of harder content, and punishing people for using ACT in an innocent and positive manner would just kill the raiding scene, most of the negativity towards it comes from either people who don't want to be held accountable for slacking or people who are afraid of the toxicity it might bring in easier content.
