i've been thinking maybe if there were enough viera/hrothgar players in the game se will make it a top priority , maybe we should make more viera and hrothgar alts so SE will notice us.
as very few Japanese players choose these races from what i can see .

The only idea i have in my case is : if i switch to viera and switch back because of the limitations, i'm not doing it again until the limitations are gone.
Same for housing: if i'm loosing my ishgard house at one point (if i get one lol), i'm not buying again. It's fun to have a house but also useless, so not huge loss for me.
If you play an alt unlike me (and use it often), it works too and it will be easier to deal with the limitation imo x) but again : switching to another race is not an option.
The only thing i can do after is show that i tried and explain why i won't do it again if nothing is done.
Even if i don't try it because of the limitations, i'll expalin why aniway and upvote others.
Patience is key.

They seem to be quite aware about the viera hair situation, judging by tone during interviews. Now, I don't know about the hrothgar situation, because they don't really ever mention them as far as I am aware... I just think they quite content with the way things are, and they will simply get around to it, when they get around to it. In the meantime, people will continue to fantasia back and forth off their viera, and unless these players actually stopped playing the game en masse due to this specifically , I don't see how doing so is anything but a benefit for them. Most people aren't actually quitting the game over this, just the usual breaks in between patches. Just consider switching back to their miqo'te or whatever at worst, and poking SE, like "hey what about hairstyles". I don't see how a any of this is a real problem for SE.
If they are just now in the planning stages for hairstyles, over the past two years was "viera hair" like just written on a post-it note on their breakroom fridge? When did they start work on male viera, or actually plan to add them? .

I know it's an exaggeration but I also often think about that, and why I have a sense of guilt whenever I consider Fantasia back to Roe (alt is a Hroth too)
Races are rather popular - clearly there's nothing wrong with them so there's no need/hurry to 'fix' anything
Races are rather unpopular - clearly it's not worth the effort to improve something nobody plays so there's no need/hurry to 'fix' anything
It feels like the same result regardless

I don't think they look at it that way -or at least I hope they don't- because it would be circular reasoning. A lot of people don't want to play the races because of the limitations, so to look at the population as an incentive to address it wouldn't make a ton of sense.
That said though, there's a possibility they might be further along than they're letting on. In the months leading up to Fan Fest he started answering questions about male Viera and female Hrothgar again and reiterated their original stance hadn't changed and the difficulties and time, cost, etc. preventing them from doing so. So the topic was back in conversation and back on people's minds and so the surprise was even bigger when they revealed male viera was pretty much finished and female hrothgar would be on the way at an unspecified point.
Now this is all tinfoil-hattery and based on nothing, but I think it's possible there's a reason they chose to finally give a more detailed answer now and pretty much follow the same pattern of bringing it back into conversation and reiterating how much work it is and yada yada, because when they do finally reveal something everyone wins. We're happy because we finally get what we've been asking for (even if it was long overdue), and they themselves look good to the rest of the community because 'Look how much work they did despite saying how hard it would be? Amazing!'.

Bumping this because third page!! But yeah, Ive been doing alot of glamours lately out of boredom inbetween progging stuff and I feel we really need some nice bobs. I love long hair but when there is like one option of short hair (that I dont really like) it makes it less fun to play around with different styles. Yesterday I did this https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/g...edic-and-omega and man wouldnt Yshtolas hair or styled for hire have looked great with it? Ive paid for Yshtolas hair when I was au ra and now it just sits there unused bc my viera cant wear it.![]()

So I have some concerns regarding the interview posted... And it seems even Yoshi P is not missing the point per say- but maybe over shooting the ask.
Whether lost in translation or interpretation: Please see RED
I feel the focus is on the fact that we want all the hair styles, and all the hats- which while nice and a pipe dream- isn't exactly what we have been asking for. We've really only been asking for hairstyles that are either the race specific promised to Veira and Hrothgar- or that the new released hairstyles that have come out with the new expansion be useable or modified for them.I have another very specific question. You announced the male Viera at the Fan Fest. Many players still wish they could use more hairstyles and headgear for the Viera and Hrothgar. Can we perhaps hope for improvements here with the introduction of the male Viera?
Yoshi-P: First of all, I would like to talk about the most important points why Viera and Hrothgar have not yet been able to wear the headgear. We have some standardized specifications when it comes to headgear. Due to the unique design, for example the Viera with the long ears, these specifications do not always fit here and cannot always be applied. If players didn't mind if there were some graphical issues here and there then that would be fine, but if they are very visual it will not work with the standard specs that the we currently have in the game. So it is due to the fact that Hrothgar and Viera have a unique design, especially when it comes to the head. Perhaps it should be seen less from the perspective that they simply have fewer hairstyles and headgear than other races, but rather that it is not possible for them to wear them.
However, we are of course aware of the requests from the players and we are not the type of team that gives its players the cold shoulder and ignores their wishes. There have been points in the past that we thought impossible at first, but which we were then able to make possible. In this case in particular, over the past six months we have repeatedly thought about how we can reduce development costs or what options we have to implement all hairstyles. In between working on the updates, we always take the time to think about these things and weigh the possibilities. We even have regular meetings on this. I was in a meeting yesterday exactly because of that, and the next one is already planned for next week. So the players can be sure that we are concerned about this, but I would ask that they show a little patience and wait a little longer. Hopefully we have good news to announce soon.
I apologize if I seem off base ( but I say this as I have a career in development- before I get a you know nothing Forum poster snow)….but if we have been waiting 2+ years because they have been trying to figure out cost and how to do all hair styles...Pretty sure it would have saved time, money, and headache to just instead implement a couple unique hairs here and there.
