While you are right, it's still beyond annoying towards the other people in the instance for someone to leave. Just stay and finish, get mettle, and wait for the next one. You can fit 4 Dal runs in a single instance time of Zadnor (if you enter Dal with a low timer it gives you more time to do it). There are at least a handful of people every time that's run it that are new, and that's unfair to them if people just leave.

Right, after doing this content almost exclusively since patch launch I am pretty much done with FFXIV. I need Lyon, Dabog and Sartauvoir and no matter how many times I do the skirmishes and Castrum I get no reward for my effort. I've even soloed MDK in a dead instance (with my MCH) and nothing. Oh and please don't tell me to just do the duels, I cannot. I don't have the skill to do it, its that simple. SE ruined FFXIV for me.

..... I understand the frustration but there's other content in this game. Take a break and hope that they fix it in the future.

I'm about that number of runs and i haven't got any drop for lyon or menenius.

I noticed in my last run today 2 people from my party leaving before last boss. This is very worrying and i hope the note farming will not develop into that. There is still people new to the instance and beside the frustration i have every time i open the Lyon chest i do enjoy the complete run. Unsure what my feeling will be in 5 months time and still no note tho because yea, bad luck is a thing that can stick to you for a long time (looking at my over 100 The Ghimlyt Dark run before the TT card finally dropped)

I'm not surprised at all it already started happening. I'm at the point that I don't have any more weapons to get without going back to DR so the only thing I get from the last boss in the Dalriada is mettle and I'd be lying if it wasn't tempting to just leave after Lyon/Whathisface chest.

I got done with my Dalriada run for today and was about to wait for a Castrum run when I realized that I was probably just wasting my time as things currently stand. I'll give this grind a rest. Hopefully they can improve things relatively soon because I really don't think I can keep this up. Skirmish drops? Fine! I'll grind them ad nauseum if I have to. But man, these Castrum and Dalriada drop rates are terrible.

You know, after countless runs of Delubrum for the hairstyle (that I finally got with coins in this patch), and far too much not-fun-time spent in Bozja/Zadnor for the last two notes I lack (Lyon I and II, no surprise), I just I saw the light, like you. I rather do something else before these drop rates make me hate the whole FFXIV, a feeling that I thought nothing could provoke and now I see looming over me.

I sure hope the Japanese players are complaining about this too, maybe the dev team will actually listen to them. I really wish there was a way to make Yoshi P, or any of the devs involved in this content, sit here for as many hours as we have, forced to watch the players fail, fail, and fail again to get these then stomach the angry/disappointed things being said. Some people get them instantly, others of us are here 2 weeks later trying, and will be here a month later trying.

This is not fun content. Whatever happened to that quote of Yoshi saying something along the lines of "if it isn't fun we aren't doing our job right" or whatever it was. This dev team keeps getting further and further away from reasonable expectations of the player base as it grows and time goes on. We need multiple layers of RNG on top of RNG to keep the player base engaged and subscribed eh?

You would think they learned their lessons with previous terrible experiences like this in the past, but I guess its just too much to ask for. Keep making the same mistakes, but its OK according to the white knights here cause we have 5 months till Endwalker. Like those 5 months couldn't be spent doing anything else.


EDIT and for the record, I complained about this same exact issue back in October before there was ever a mount reward attached to these notes.

I have no idea if they are talking about this or not. Did try to look earlier out of curiosity with a japanese auto translate on my browser but couldn't come up with anything. I'd like to know their take on this though.

i respect the people who finished it or got the mount, we know we heard lot about "just do duel" by you, but with all people with their parents want the same note its almost difficult to get into, plus the fate pop like every 2hr even none at all, cant duel if it ain't pop.
mad respect the people who got it but uses it outside on gangos so they dont stress the people who hasn't got em, also dont bring the mount on the skirmish location please, you just make more people lose their sanity with how you rubbing on their face

There actually r some, well, lets call it suggestion in the JP forum but not this many like in here. I really doubt if the dev will listen to those voice. U know if they ever listened there probably wont be this erueka 2.0 whole thing again.

I don't want to sound like the devil's advocate here (I am still grinding for the mount as well) but I feel like there are way harder (as in more grindy) mounts to get in game, like the Triceratops/Centurio Tiger from Hunts or the Astrope you get by doing 2000 mentor roulettes.

The patch came out 2 weeks ago and we still have 5 months left until Endwalker comes out. Just take it easy, do a couple Dalriada/Castrum runs a day and you'll have your mounts in a couple months at most.

Actually the Dalriada/Castrum is still okay for at least they r popping up really quick these days, the really annoying ones are the fate and ce ones with rarity like 4 or 5 stars especially the "Of Steel and Flame" one which u need to do mob farming and a lot related skirmish to get it popped up. And the worst part is there is a hard cool down for these fates like an hour or more.
