I didn't mind THAT part of the tower, but I wasn't overly thrilled by the use of 2 Replicant bosses back to back at the beginning. Like, there was no reason to include them other than advertise Replicant. They were so out of place that it hurt. Then again, the entire raid series was just one big Nier ad. Unfortunately, I don't think it accomplished what they wanted it to.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

I feel like it might have worked better with some more background. I don't mind there being replicant bosses there, but say fighting the Knave in Popola's library and Hansel and Grettle in the shrine place with simulated environemnts would have been more interesting than three bosses in the bland cyberspace area. The Red Girl gets a pass for working the hacking minigame stuff into the boss arena and mechanics, but the first two were super bland environments, even accounting for it being from automata.

If there were going to be two throwaway reference bosses though yeah I would have preferred Automata bosses like the oprea robot and adam and eve or something if I got to pick.

I liked the Copied Factory enough that it got me to buy Automata (albeit on sale, during an Amazon cross-promotion that also got me the fantasia I used to go Viera). I really liked it.

Unfortunately, that set me up for disappointment, because the Puppet's Bunker is just jarringly disconnected aesthetically from the rest of FFXIV, the Tower is not only boring but actively painful to view (haven't had it come up in roulette since the patch that was supposed to help, haven't cared enough to queue for it specifically), and the story just kinda fell flat overall. And I only really liked the glams from the Factory, so I have even less incentive to care about the rest.

Sorry OP, you're totally off base here. The actually meaning of the Nier raid was to be a 3 part 3 hour long ad for Nier Replicant to boost sales from people who otherwise would have never looked at the game, with added bonus of boosting NieR:Automata sales by giving people a look at stupid sexy 2b in their favorite game.

The meaning was money, boosted sales and a reason for Yoshi-p to talk about butts.

Sounds like some post modernist drivel. Much like Nier.

But if you are a fan of Yoko Taro's and know how he likes to add in all of these little nuances, isn't this exactly something he would do?
    No, it isn't.
    Like, not remotely.

I don't know what 2nd hand info you've been hearing but it has mislead you. As someone who's been following Yoko Taro since Drakengard I can pretty confidently say his nuances are generally focused towards making simple things precious, not subverting expectations for the sake of it.

To add on environs, I had honestly expected they would go natural-ish to try and fit the FF world better. As in the second raid being the desert ruins (in the light-blasted wastes) and a third being perhaps the amusement park or castle area (probably in rak’tika?)

Allllll that said, especially with the nods here and there, I wish they had utilized Ronka’s floating civilization or the secret of mana vibes (Rak’tika dungeon has several nods for example).

Is what it is tho... but a shame not to use those things since I don’t really see an expansion returning to the first.

Reminds me of the recent story about the Italian Artist who just sold an "Invisible Sculpture" for $18,500.

You're eyes do not decisive, it really is nothing but a square on the ground maybe cost $5 for the tape and piece of paper saying it is real. But since the artist used words and metaphors, he was able to sell nothing for something.
