There should be other ways to obtain the Field notes.

I totally agree with this. Im only missing one field note and its Menenius sas Lanatus II. I have ran Dalriada over 50 times now, I cant keep track anymore because I got the title achievement already.. The game only gives me Lyon II note whenever or if the boss drops any. I got Lyon II three times already and not a single time Menenius sas Lanatus II. This is really frustrating and making me feel not to play this game anymore. I dont mind grind but this one is not fun at all. It just feels like this one note doesnt even exist in my game at all or is bugged.. Increase the drop rates or let us buy them with platinum coins etc... This wouldnt be a problem if there would be some sort of pity system or something like with extreme mounts. After 99 clears you will get it at last or way before if lucky enough.

Right, after doing this content almost exclusively since patch launch I am pretty much done with FFXIV. I need Lyon, Dabog and Sartauvoir and no matter how many times I do the skirmishes and Castrum I get no reward for my effort. I've even soloed MDK in a dead instance (with my MCH) and nothing. Oh and please don't tell me to just do the duels, I cannot. I don't have the skill to do it, its that simple. SE ruined FFXIV for me.

same, been loving ffxiv since started on SB, but this thing make me felt down for ffxiv like a full 180°, not because the inhumane long wait, it hot me Ill irl so definitely something wrong, hope they patch it before more people lose their sanity

Definitely agree that the field notes should be purchasable with Bozjan coins from the instances they drop from + the drop rates for the notes should be increased. This would give those who are farming the notes multiple avenues to obtain the mount for gathering all field notes in a reasonable time + add an RNG protection element like how Extreme mounts have currently with the totem system. The duels have excellent rewards as is with unique and rare titles; field notes/lore shouldn't be locked behind them. With the skirmishes/FATEs/Castrum/Delriada spawn rates as they are currently, it would take a *lot* of time afking or attempting to spawn skirmishes to obtain these field notes with no guarantee of them dropping which feels like wasted effort.

If vendors were to be added to sell the field notes, this would help the zones be much more active. It would generate more activity by players participating in skirmishes/critical engagements in order to generate the currency they need to obtain the field notes. It would increase the longevity of the content in a more genuine manner rather than artificially with players AFKing in the instance until their target skirmish spawns. It'll also allow players down the road a chance at getting their mount as well when the content isn't current.

At this point, I'd even suggest allowing field notes to be purchased via Bozjan clusters if the coins aren't possible to be used.

I got done with my Dalriada run for today and was about to wait for a Castrum run when I realized that I was probably just wasting my time as things currently stand. I'll give this grind a rest. Hopefully they can improve things relatively soon because I really don't think I can keep this up. Skirmish drops? Fine! I'll grind them ad nauseum if I have to. But man, these Castrum and Dalriada drop rates are terrible.

I'm pretty sure the drop rate is 1% across the board. What is depressing is doing a perfect run with one group of 7 (with a tank) and one group of 6 (without a tank) and getting nothing. Not one player got the notes. It's demoralizing, and hell, I don't even have a job yet. Imagine how people feel who can only play a few hours a week.

Considering there's a fair number of people based on this thread and in game chats who have gone 50+ clears so far and haven't even gotten one...yeah, 1% sounds about right. Might even be lower. lol

this will probably just end up being like EX mount farming. drop rate increases will come later in all likely hood. just take a break from it if you don't want to get burned out on it.
