Hello. Figure this be a wasted vent and useless but feel like the community isn't all that is cracked up to be. I feel like at least half the community wants other players to become perfect and be 150% better. I ran a DR with complete randoms and all I ever hear is get essences use essences etc. Have you ever thought maybe I don't have time to grind for fragments and hope that RNG gives me the essence I need?

Maybe tell the devs that the whole thing is stupid to rely on essence potions to buff up our DPS. Maybe they should of let our gear dictate our damage. I just feel like this game went from being fun to almost a job on how we have to strive for perfection or don't play.

I know it falls on deaf ears a few years ago as I was learning had a person use a parser to make fun of me in a raid back in SB. Of course nothing happened as always. People just turn a blind eye.

If players really wanted us to max out our DPS, they wouldn't constantly bitch whenever someone brings up using a DPS meter to improve his or her rotation.

You come to group content - you have to pull your weight. No one wants to carry a lazy player because they don't enjoy effort.
OP came to criticize, got criticized back, ran away calling others toxic because they didn't agree with her/him. I guess this is what you call trashing on others?
I don't get what's so hard to get a few essences? You use one and it's gonna stay until you change class or leave the instance.

Then the devs should let us all have DPS meters.

They are impatient to get what they want at the end of the day. So they get pissy at people they see as an obstacle to that goal. I understand that much. And they can grumble all they want to friends! Not a problem. Just don't take it out on other people for not playing the way you want. It just reeks of babyrage and entitlement. Play however you like so long as it is within ToS they can get stuffed. My FC mate hates to run any new content with randoms because of people like this with no patience at all.

They can solve their own problems. Jus do you and ignore their ranting. I would say if looking at this forum post is also too upsetting just ignore it and carry on playing w your mates I have said before this forum is a very small part of this community and it is the more trolly and argumentative lot as well.

I'm not attempting to victimize myself at all here, I never really ever ran DR, I'm just telling how I see it: you're happy knowing you're not contributing anywhere near as much as you could because you refuse to buff yourself, drag the rest of your alliance down, and complain when people who put in the effort in consideration of the time of their fellow party members and their own too complain about it.

I can't even compare it to not using consumables in harder content because essences are a lot, lot more impactful.

Yep. Very happy actually! I do the mechanics, save my party members and have a grand ol time. I complain that people have the nerve to tell others how they should play and what the "bare minimum" is. Lovely of you, well them since you say you don't even run DR, to think of others and so put in the effort to always use the essence. But don't act like a martyr for doing something I never asked you to do in the first place. They opt to do something themselves and then proceed to bitch that others do not do the same. Nobody is under any obligation to match the gil they put in, the time they put into farming clusters etc. If they want a group they know DOES match that level of effort they are available. Shaming others for having a nice time is a douche move. Just because they are in a rush does not mean the rest of us are.

The fact you think it's going to cost you "hours" to get clusters is beyond me and makes me believe you're truly ignorant on how to get them. All the best to you though.

Getting a significant amount of the correct kind of essence can take hours, yes, especially if you're doing it solo.

Personally, I just can't wrap my head around someone NOT wanting a fast run through DR. That seems to be the case with you. In an MMO, time is the most valuable currency we have to spend. DR is one heck of a time sink. I get that you want to chill and have fun, and that's fine, but why are you so vehemently opposed to contributing a bit more to your group? I'd hate to see someone politely offer you job rotation advice, if this is any indication as to how things will go.

I didn't really run just got tired of hearing the stubbornness. In reality it's the price you play to play a game online. If you truly want to speedrun then gather 23 other friends and run it who cares. If it's done through party finder then that changes everything. No one and I repeat no one owes anything in this game period. blank. period. If no one uses essences so be it if they do so be it. Who cares it a game. That is all it is a game. You know entertainment purposes leisure time etc. Why do people really treat this as life or death look at how you are acting. Not everyone wants to farm all the time. That is what I originally was talking about for crying out loud. But then things get picked apart by the online community and this is what you get. I enjoy ff14 always have always will. At the end of the day I don't know you and you are a faceless person at the end of a screen. So why get all bent out of shape? As the saying goes JUST DO YOU!

The problem that you don't understand that content like DR requires a lot of focus in order to keep track of what's going on around. The longer you spend time on killing stuff, the longer you have to stay focused. In a long run it is very exhausting.
Essences are a free damage buff that would change nothing in terms of your gameplay, but will decrease the time you need to clear a duty, AKA the faster it dies, the less mechanics it uses, the easier it is for you.
*But it's just a game* just doesn't work nowadays with how much people invest into gaming. You and me can play the same game but enjoy different stuff within it. I enjoy giving my best in whatever content I do, you enjoy... well, whatever you enjoy.
The effort part that you want to cover as *life and death* can be translated into simple respect for those who you got into a party and their time. Not everyone can spend hours to play because of their own reasons. And from here I can reverse your point of gathering 23 people back at you by saying just go get 23 people and run it as slow as you want.
You say you don't have time to farm essences yet you have time to run DR for hours. Doesn't add up here.
You owe nothing to anyone but respect of their time if you run with randoms. If you just want to stay lazy and just sit on everyone else's back, please stay away from group content, it is disrespectful.

When I was actively trying to farm clusters for the emotes it could take a long long time before I even got a group for it. I joined a discord with the purpose of finding groups more easily and they really were not posted very often and never at a time I was free. I think I would be ready to shoot myself trying to do that solo, yikes. I have done plenty castrum runs, I have done plenty DR runs and I still have very few essences. I ran out of Cure 4's now as often we end up without a healer the runs I dare to not heal myself.
