If you're going to set a minimum, make it 10 Million. Otherwise, let me buy them when I feel like it.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Time gating. Its the same reason why for after level 2 in a specific power increase -- it costs more proofs of mettle.
For sure. However, 20 million mettle actually isn't that much. You can get it quite quickly, whether you are doing Dalraida, or FATEs.
I think the biggest issue, is there isn't actually much of a reason to farm mettle in the first place, to be frank.

They don't cost 8 Million. It is 3 for 20 Million (so ~6.66 Million each). They do this so that you are more likely to spread out your Suns rather than just focusing on damage.
If they did it your way players would just max out the damage buff first without ever upgrading hp or healing.
I was starting to wonder if anyone else came to the same conclusion. Once I finished getting my weapon items from the skimishes/CEs I really found no reason to interact with anything other than the Dalriada and even then other methods are probably way more efficient than waiting around for that to happen. My best case scenario would be adding timeworn artifacts as drops from skirms/CEs at a lowish drop rate so you have a reason to actually interact with that content for the foreseeable future but ultimately I don't know how they will fix that if they deem it needs fixing at all.
I see the mettle gain more as a side effect of farming other stuff. 15 runs of DR at 25 ~9 mil with 5 runs of Dalraida being 16.5 million. Anyone who didn't already get all of a lower step after finishing their first Resistance Weapon can actually gain a fair amount working on their other Resistance Weapons.I was starting to wonder if anyone else came to the same conclusion. I've only gotten damage honors. I see no reason for the other ones first, even with the cost. They don't cost 8 Million. It is 3 for 20 Million (so ~6.66 Million each). They do this so that you are more likely to spread out your Suns rather than just focusing on damage.

FATEs frequently drop Zadnor* lockboxes, and I presume they think people will be farming for their low drop rate field notes or trying to do duels. Honors just make it easier to farm said content. I think they have overestimated the want for these items, but people will still farm it regardless with 6 months out until EW.I was starting to wonder if anyone else came to the same conclusion. Eh, I think it's fine as is. Grinding honors is super easy.
So how much of a buff are these things anyways? I was hoping it would actually be something insane like Yoshi-P said, but it sounds like they are easy enough to get that it probably isn't that great....
The current speculation is that its 3% per stack for a total of 30% at the max stacks of 10. Might ramp up as it gets closer to 10 but we won't know until someone gets there.
