I tried reddit for a few days, i don't even get why ppl use it. Topics keep getting locked for no reason, and my posts get deleted because i wasn't in some special club or whatever.
Actually, i change my previous statement, reddit is the strangest community, not FF![]()
While i agree that feed back should not be silenced, useless feedback just clogs the information path with.. uselessness. As far as I know forums are here for feedback and expressing dissapointment and anger at the game is good enough feedback since it does indeed point out there's something wrong with X feature of the game... yet a big portion of the forums is people against people having an opinion and most responses are just unsub from the game, which I think is doing nothing for anyone. SE is good at listening to players and I think we should encourage our voices being heard instead of silenced.
Expressing anger and disappointment without any useful feedback is useless.
"OMG Lissy you suck so bad at RDM! i cant believe you are wasting our time, go back and learn your class!" -> expresses disappointment and anger. So its good feedback, yes? No. It is not.
and as far as I know you may be an awesome RDM. just trying to make a point here.
Unfortunately you'll just be called a troll and a MPK alt if you say anything that the forums don't like![]()
Unfortunately a lot of critics can't seem to give an actual real opinion and instead drench their woes in hyperbolic statements and, ironically, call those who disagree with the extremity of their complaints by calling them trolls or white knights or shills. I have plenty of problems with certain aspects of this game and will bring them up if they ever come to be unbearable but that hasn't really happened yet outside of rare instances. Also a lot of problems folks have seem to be ultimately minor issues overall when compared to the amount of folks who didn't have problems at all with whatever the complaint was. And yeah I know that's not an accurate measure of good/bad but it's at least a stepping stone to see where to actually start the discussion.
And also OP, it's not much of a call out thread if you aren't actually calling anyone out. This reeks of those types of videos or forum posts where someone vaguely gestures in a direction and says "omg those people" without actually saying who they're talking about.
Shrug i mean smn is unbearable its eben a real ff summoner and blm kinda is unbearable its 78% cds and bearly any spells lolUnfortunately a lot of critics can't seem to give an actual real opinion and instead drench their woes in hyperbolic statements and, ironically, call those who disagree with the extremity of their complaints by calling them trolls or white knights or shills. Have to take into account all the people who don't agree with that and start somewhere in the middle. Like to me, BLM is overall fine it just demands you know a fight to optimize while SMN suffers more from a solid class identity to me while suffering a bit from button bloat. I wouldn't demand a huge rework of summoner just because I find parts of it janky since ultimately I don't have the metrics, the devs do. If it gets personally impossible for me to play a job though due to changes, I would leave a comment or thread discussing my problems with it and see if it's just me or whatever before rolling into town all "SMN SUCKS, THE DEVS ARE INCOMPETENT, WHY ARE WE WASTING RESOURCES INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM I HAVE".
Most of my problems with the game I discuss with people outside of here since usually it's just a vent, but also because it's really hard to have a genuine discussion on here for more than a handful of pages before it turns into a bunch of bad faith arguments.

As someone who has spent a bit of time working professionally with art and artists, it's important not to underestimate the value of raw sentiment.
The average joe can usually identify that something is wrong or feels off, but may not be equipped to express exactly what is wrong or how to fix it. This doesn't mean their sentiment is useless or invalid; It helps guide professionals, who are equipped with the skillset to understand and solve the problem, to the places in a work that need their attention.
^^^ So much this ^^^
FF14 has been trending towards exactly where it is now for years. You don't have to like it, and it's certainly not without it's (many) flaws, but it's pretty clear what sort of game we're looking at and are going to be looking at for the forseeable future.
Take it as a "just unsub then" if you want but it's really just a reality check. There's a bunch of common complaints that are just not going to be "fixed." Either get used to it or find a game that fits what you're actually looking for.
Anyway, another thing to keep in mind for criticism is to actually provide some sort of realistic solution, don't just complain for the sake of complaining. And no, just because some modder did it so the devs can do it isn't a realistic solution.
I ran through it a week or so ago. I've been popping the antidote since 2014 -- you put it on your bar and click once.
Never found a use for Ether or any of the other early 'potions', though. Seems like the mechanics that required them just don't matter.
Even so, I'd keep using them at higher level (just for the extra cushion / the extra bounce back if I die)... if I had the hotbar space for them.
